Ricardo Vardasca, PhD, ASIS, FRPS is a coordinator professor of computer science and dean of the Research center at ISLA Santarém - Polytechnic Institute, Integrated Researcher at INEGI-LAETA, External Professor at University of Valencia (Spain), External examiner of the MSc Advanced Health and Care Management (Swansea University, UK) and International Advisory Board of the Biomedical Engineering department of SRM University (India). He has been awarded with a PhD in Computer Science and a BSc (hons) in information technology from the University of South Wales (UK) and a BSc in Computer Science Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. He is a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society (UK), where he was also recognized as Accredited Senior Imaging Scientist. Acted between 2015 and 2024 as General Secretary of the European Association of Thermology and from 2021 to 2024 as coordinator of the Project Support Office at ISLA Santarem. Currently he is editor in chief of the Imaging Science Journal and member of the editorial boards of the journals: International Journal of E-Health and Medical Communications, Educational Science and Artificial Intelligence in Health. He is the program leader of: MSc Web Systems and Technologies Engineering, BSc Computer Science Engineering, PG cert in Data Science and Short Cycle course in Artificial Intelligence. He also acts as member of the General Council of ISLA Santarém - Polytechnic Institute and of the Pedagogical and Tecnical-Scientific councils of the Higher Education School of Engineering and Technology.
