The student must acquire and/or develop skills that allow them to understand the dimensions and implications of decision-making in companies. To acquire these skills, the following teaching and learning methodologies will be used:
1. Expository, to present the theoretical frameworks of reference and procedures associated with the techniques and models used
2. Participatory and active, using a simulator to validate decision-making processes
3. Self-study, related to the student's autonomous work and production of individual/group work
Mandatory
The objectives of this course are to develop the problematic underlying Business Finance, addressing the formulation of the most important questions that are posed to the financial activity of a company, that is, the concepts, methods and tools that support analysis and decision-making of the company's financial decisions, namely investment and financing decisions. The approach to the different decisions will be based on the basic paradigm of maximizing the value of the company and its owners.
Students are expected to acquire skills in the process of analysis and evaluation of any company, business or investment project, always from the perspective of value creation. It is also expected that students will acquire specific skills in decision-making within the business organization, either on the investments side or on the financing side.

This course covers some of the main decisions of the financial manager. In particular, it analyzes financing decisions, investment decisions and the decision to distribute results to shareholders and how these are substantiated in the creation of value.
