  • The UC has a theoretical methodology through interactive oral exposition using audiovisual media, interspersed with questions, debate, screening of documentaries, with the aim of promoting the student's active participation in the learning process. It also aims to prepare for literacy in the area of ¿¿illustration for comics, with the acquisition of knowledge about the history of comics and cartoons in Portugal and abroad. It encourages Project-Based Learning, with tasks being assigned to be investigated, providing students with explanatory statements with the assessment criteria. These projects can be carried out collaboratively or individually, promoting the registration of existing comic and cartoon genres, and their transformation into proposals linked to design, cinema, advertising, and technical illustration. Learning from experts is valued, inviting artists and specialists to promote group dialogue, reflective thinking and the sharing of experiences.

  • Know the graphic heritage and the historical importance of the comics and cartoons drawing; Study the differences between comics and cartoon in various countries: Japan, United States, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, among others; Develop research and critical analysis of comic books, cartoons and animation, according to the most relevant characteristics of each author; Learn the differences of representation, in comics, cartoon and animation; To know concepts of planning animated movements for cinema and advertising.

  • 10% Avaliação contínua. Presença obrigatória, participação e assiduidade.
    40% de exercícios individuais ou em pequenos grupos 
    10% Apresentação de resultados e discussão crítica
    50% Exercício final: resultado da pesquisa e desenvolvimento de registo. 

    A nota mínima para aprovar são 10 (dez) valores.
    Trabalhos com elementos com cópia parcial ou na íntegra, sem a devida citação, ou realizados através do uso de programas de inteligência artificial não serão aceites, tendo uma classificação de 0 (zero) valores.
    A não presença, o não cumprimento dos exercícios, a cópia dos mesmos, implica fazer o Exame de Recurso, ou Exame de Época Especial (com regulamento próprio, ex. alunos trabalhadores-estudantes).
    Cabe ao aluno a apresentação de todos os exercícios realizados durante o semestre, e teste oral/escrito ou exercício lançado no dia do exame.
