- Teaching methodologies at the theoretical module are mainly expositive. Practical module will use demonstrative and participative methodologies. There will also be used problem solving at both theoretical and practical issues. The unit can be performed by continuous assessment or final evaluation. The final classification (FC) curricular unit for continuous evaluation is obtained from the marks obtained in the theoretical component (50%) and the practical component (50%). The theoretical part consists of two written tests with minimum classification of 8. The laboratory component consists of two evaluation moments, with minimum classification of 8. The weighted value of the classifications in each of the components (T and PL) and the final average obtained must be at least 9.5 points.
- Mandatory
- Students must acquire and strengthen knowledge in the field of Radiopharmacy, allowing them to gain the necessary skills to perform technical procedures in a radiopharmacy laboratory. Know the definition of radiopharmaceutical, types of radiopharmaceuticals, properties of the “ideal radiopharmaceutical” both for diagnosis and therapy, as well as radiopharmaceuticals quality control Know the radioactive decay processes and radiation protection standards on a radiopharmacy Identify the several types of radionuclide generators, radionuclides production methods, radiopharmaceuticals pharmacokinetics, biodistribution and localization mechanisms Know the applied legal regulations Student must accurately execute radiopharmacy technical procedures.
- Introduction to radiopharmacy Good practice at hospital waste management and radioactive management Radiologic safety standards Radionuclides generators 99Mo/99mTc generator: elution and quality control Radiopharmaceuticals: radiolabeling and quality control
