- In this curricular unit, the Team-based learning (TBL) methodology is used, with tasks carried out in small groups, allowing the development of the ability to analyze and apply theoretical concepts. In practical classes, the student has prior access to the activities that will be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. Class session plans are accompanied by a set of questions, to ensure individual preparation, and later discussion of procedures and results.

- To know the general principles of osteopathic manipulative techniques; Acquire knowledge to be used in various fields of diagnosis and osteopathic treatment to be applied in other courses and clinical practice; Develop and implement the START concept applied to the lumbar and cervical spine; Understand the key variables that characterize each of the manipulative techniques; Identify, interpret, describe and treat disorders resulting from the perversion of the relationship between structure and function; Apply harmonic joint and global osteopathic technique; Develop and implement lymphatic drainage techniques according to the osteopathic concept.
- Diagnosis in osteopathy: START concept applied to the lumbar and cervical spine: Anamnesis; Assessment in the standing position (in charge); Global, regional and special tests. Introduction, mechano-physiological principles, indications and contraindications and demonstration of: Harmonic techniques; Joint techniques; Muscle energy techniques and reduced speed and high amplitude (LVHA); High acceleration pulse techniques (HVLA); Global Osteopathic Technique.

A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações adquiridas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente Teórica consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 9,5 valores. A componente prática consta de 2 momentos de avaliação práticos realizados durante as aulas laboratoriais. A classificação mínima de cada momento é de 9,5 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5 valores.

- Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques III are part of the pre-completion of the course, giving students the various competencies in structural osteopathic approaches, covering the entire physical and organic structure of the patient. This UC is intended for teaching both theoretically and/or practically of manual techniques for the intervention of structural osteopathy, recognizing and interpreting the most diverse dysfunctions, proposing adequate intervention in clinical context, and at the same time, to deepen all manual procedures in order to make your intervention more effective and adapted to the various circumstances and situations requested.
