- The teaching methodology includes the expository method (ME1) to present the necessary content, the demonstrative method (ME2) to illustrate its application to practical cases, and the active method (ME3) for solving exercises with and without computer use, in a problem-based learning environment. Knowledge assessment is done through continuous assessment or a written final exam. Continuous assessment includes: - a written assessment test: 40%; - a group project (empirical study, involving all stages of the statistical method, with mandatory oral presentation): 40%; - solving exercises on Moodle: 20%.
- Mandatory
- LO1 - Understand the fundamental concepts of statistics and the role of data analysis in organizational decision-making. LO2 - Identify types of variables and appropriate data collection methods in organizational contexts. LO3 - Design data collection instruments, namely questionnaires and measurement scales. LO4 - Assess the internal consistency of scales using Cronbach's alpha coefficient. LO5 - Organize and summarize data using tables, graphical representations and descriptive statistical measures. LO6 - Analyse relationships between variables using linear correlation. LO7 - Build and interpret simple and multiple linear regression models. LO8 - Use statistical software (jamovi) for data analysis and interpretation.

- The growing availability of data in organizations has made the ability to collect, analyse and interpret data an essential competence for professionals in management and human resources. This CU introduces the fundamental concepts of Statistics applied to organizational contexts, addressing methods for data collection, questionnaire design and measurement scales, as well as techniques for organizing, describing and analysing data. The CU also introduces methods of univariate and bivariate descriptive statistics, as well as techniques for analysing relationships between variables, including linear correlation and simple and multiple linear regression models. These techniques are widely used to understand factors influencing organizational phenomena such as job satisfaction, employee performance, training effectiveness or turnover. The CU has a theoretical-practical orientation, emphasizing the application of statistical methods to real data using statistical analysis software (jamovi).
