  • Theoretical (lecture) and theoretical-practical classes, tutored by a teacher, where learning is applied through problem-solving, allowing for the understanding of more complex concepts. Use of the b-learning system (Moodle), where supporting materials for the classes are made available and regular mini-tests are applied.

  • The course of General Physiology aims to enable the students to properly use the fundamental physiological concepts that underpin the functioning of the different apparatus and systems, to master the basic terminology of the course, and to be able to understand the integrative functioning of the organism. Specifically, students should be able to define and comment on the concepts of the discipline; analyze the physicochemical principles that determine physiological functions; analyze and describe physiological processes from the point of view of their biological significance, mechanism, and regulation at different levels of integration; analyze possible changes in physiological processes and their implications for the body; analyze the methodology of this discipline and its application during physical activity.

  • Regras da Avaliação Contínua

    1. A unidade curricular é composta por dois módulos:

    a) Módulo de Bioquímica (Prof. Doutor Pedro Gonçalves)
    b) Módulo de Fisiologia  (Prof. Doutor Pedro Vargas)


    2. A classificação do módulo de Bioquimica equivale a 33,3% e a classificação do módulo de Fisiologia equivale a 66,6% aa classificação final na unidade curricular de
    Fisiologia Geral, respetivamente.


    Regras Específicas em cada Módulo:
    Regra 1: No final do semestre, considera-se aprovado neste módulo o estudante que obtiver, no mínimo, 9,5 valores em cada módulo (9,5 valores no módulo de Bioquímica e 9,5 valores no módulo de Fisiologia).
     

    Regra 2: Dentro de cada módulo, considera-se aprovado o estudante que obtiver, no mínimo 7,5 valores, em todos os elementos de avaliação, desde que cumpra a regra anterior
    (regra 1). Deste modo, nenhum elemento de avaliação poderá ter uma classificação inferior a 7,5 valores.
     

    Regra 3: Módulo de Bioquímica - Ponderação de 33,3%

    • A nota deste módulo é definida pela média dos 5 (cinco) melhores mini-testes de um total de 7 (sete).

    Regra 4: Módulo de Fisiologia - Ponderação de 66,6%
    Dentro deste módulo são utilizados os seguintes instrumentos de avaliação:

    • Teste escrito + defesa oral do mesmo - 33,3% (correspondendo 26,64% ao teste escrito e 6,66% à defesa oral)
    • 4 (quatro) mini-testes - 33,3%

  • The field of action of this curricular unit is central to the integration of knowledge in the areas of biochemistry and anatomophysiology, fostering skills that enable the student to understand and identify the mechanisms involved in the functioning of the different apparatus and systems, which is fundamental for the subsequent understanding of the systemic response to exercise.
