- The relevance of individual behavior to health, the relationship between physical health and mental health and between them and individual performance in the most diverse contexts, has been the focus of attention in recent decades. Thus, based on the basic concepts acquired in this area during the 1st Cycle and through an integrated understanding of the articulation between the main concepts and theoretical models of the field of Health Psychology, this curricular unit focuses on two areas of action: health promotion and the promotion of psychosocial adaptation to chronic and terminal disease, enhancing the use of appropriate strategies in the face of stressors that may not be controllable by individuals.
