- This UC intends to show the various principles of existing types of communications, from networks and their structures, to concepts and fundamentals about the different protocols used in the current communications. Thus it will be possible for the student to obtain an overview of the basic principles of how the Internet works and the applications that run on it.

- Understand the functioning of Internet access networks and their different architectures. Get an overview of how the Internet works, from applications to physical connections. Identify and analyze the various network technologies in addition to the respective data connection and physical layer protocols. Transmission Means: Coaxial Cable, Twisted Pair and Optical Fiber Analog and Digital Modulation. Understand the architecture of the OSI model and its organization into layers of the TCP/IP protocol stack and apply knowledge of the protocols and services of the application (e.g. HTTP, DNS and SMTP/POP/IMAP) and transport (e.g. TCP and UDP), and its IPv4 addressing mode. Acquire and apply the basic concepts of the various types of communications networks and apply them in a context with professional guidance.
- Mandatory
- Use of digital tools (software and hardware), which are used in the job market.
