This curricular unit aims to constitute a general introduction to the basic concepts of Psychology and
of its characteristics as a differentiated science regarding mind and behavior, focusing
also psychosocial processes. It is an approach to the main approaches and guidelines
theories, the object, the psychological variables, the research methods and the various areas of
application of psychology.

The purpose of this course is to introduce the basic concepts of Psychology and its characteristics as a
differentiated science in mind and behavior. The theoretical and empirical issues related to it, namely the
methodologies used in research in Psychology, the main processes as the basic content of General
Psychology and their interaction between biological, social and psychological factors in the determination
of thought, behavior and emotions.
Mandatory
Theoretical classes using new technologies for theoretical-practical illustration, such as viewing documentaries, seminars, lectures, among others, with the aim of fostering closer contact between theory (taught in classes) with the more practical component, such as activities developed by professionals in the area of ¿¿behavioral and mental sciences.
