  • Ana Reyes holds a Ph.D. in Sports Sciences, with a specialization in Sport, Genetics and Motor Behavior (2019), and a Master’s degree in Adapted Physical Activity (2013), both from the University of Porto. She is an Assistant Professor at Instituto Piaget (Almada) and a Guest Professor at Instituto Manuel Teixeira Gomes (ISMAT). She is a researcher at Insight: Piaget Research Center of Ecological Human Development and a collaborating researcher at the Center of Research, Education, Innovation and Intervention in Sport (CIFI2D), funded by FCT and based at the Faculty of Sport, University of Porto (since 2011), as well as at CIDEFES, Lusófona University (since September 2023). Her research focuses on children motor development and relies on a holistic interpretation of human development to best understand the intertwined relationships between individual and environmental characteristics that shape body composition, physical fitness, physical activity, motor development and lifestyle. She has been involved in projects at Portugal and Cape Verde. She was invited by international peer-reviewed journals to be a reviewer. She has vital skills in biostatistics, namely in multilevel model using SPSS, Stata and Supermix.
