- Digitally Platformed Artistic Visualities – Users’ negotiations of digital platforms’ algorithmic (in)visibility and censorship in the art/smut divide

- This project examines the impact of Instagram’s content moderation practices on photographic production, circulation, visibility, and authorship, with particular attention to artistic, erotic, and self-representational practices. Adopting a mixed-methods and exploratory research design, it integrates network analysis, surveys, semi-structured interviews, media diaries, and visual semiotic analysis to investigate creators’ experiences, strategies, and negotiations with platform governance. The study follows a participatory and reflexive approach, involving photographers, models, and self-photographers from diverse and intersectional backgrounds in the co-design of research instruments and advisory processes. Through systematic quantitative and qualitative analysis, the project seeks to identify structural patterns of engagement, censorship, and self-regulation, as well as to critically assess algorithmic and human moderation systems. Its findings aim to advance theoretical and empirical debates on digital visibility, artistic labour, and platform capitalism, and will be disseminated through peer-reviewed publications, academic conferences, and curated public exhibitions.

- The project DIGIMI (DIGItal storytelling for Migrant Integration) has as key objective the involvement of the local community to facilitate social integration for migrants through volunteering activities to provide support to third-country nationals in areas such as knowledge of the new local environment, “ways, customs and habits” of the new society as well as understanding of the latter through digitally narrated stories. Storytelling regarding present and past recollections, interests and hopes is associated with coping mechanisms, and recently arrived third-country nationals can exchange, compare and combine their stories with those of long established migrants and local populations in the affected partner communities.

- In_NovaMusEUm project aims to strengthen the capacity to attract new audiences of European museums located in peripheral areas, through activities of audience development related to Art&Food, valorization of museum artworks collections and local cultural heritage.
OBJECTIVES
To create and test a new shared methodology of audience development related to Art&Food for EU peripheral museums;
To reinforce audience development skills of EU peripheral museums’ responsibles;

- Healing Nature: Animation for Health and Well-being in Children Hospital Environments

- The Healing Nature project proposal incorporates the power of images of nature as reassuring environmental elements, through various media into hospital spaces, to support the mental, physical, and spiritual health of the individual and the hospital community. Most artworks in hospitals are traditional murals, paintings, and sculptures, and there is a lack of contemporary interactive work and animations in children's hospital waiting rooms. Thus, the main goal of the project is to create an interactive experience, using augmented reality (AR) with animated content, that will assure a welcoming and calming hospital environment that also provides a soothing and distracting experience for children.
The project’s aims and objectives address innovation and social inclusion issues utilizing a SCREENless format, which is efficient, sustainable, and low cost, whilst incorporating a layered interactive experience, combining murals with animated digital elements, in an augmented reality format. The goal is to design innovative, engaging moving image interventions that encourage children to respond to the space and to each other rather than being passive consumers. Our project promotes the traditional “sensorial” visual quality of handmade techniques while enriching it with contemporary immersive technologies that mix digital animation with real-world elements.
The project aims to enhance social inclusion through the public hospital system, open to everyone, and through workshops about nature, art, animation, and technology for the hospital communities, particularly for some marginalized children, whose contributions and creative outputs will become part of the artworks. The project also includes a research component in the form of patient/viewer questionnaires to evaluate the impact of the artworks. - It consisted of a multi-stakeholder approach and a good-practices rationale, meaning that it documented and evaluated all aspects of the initiative from inception to completion. The project was based on research evidence and theoretical conceptualizations of media literacy as a fundamental requirement of citizenship and empowerment. The project emphasized the key role of improving media literacy, especially among young people. A key rationale of this project was to enable participants to become agents of social change through their use and creation of media and broader social engagement, incorporating the inclusion of minorities, marginalized groups and online interest communities as part of the general public.
