- Mandatory
- The objectives of the CU are: O1:To develop the ability to design based on thinking and criticism (observation and analysis), drawing (process) and space (scale, form and structure). O2:To explore the notions of living space, in buildings and in the context of the city. O3:To develop notions of scale. O4:To develop the fundamentals of technical drawing. O5:To develop the creation of models as a design tool. O6:Learn about basic construction techniques and materials. O7:Learn about and study notable examples of architecture. O8:Understand the importance of the role of architecture in society in various areas: social, economic, cultural, environmental and in the quality of life of citizens, both in the context of inhabiting private space (the home) and in the context of inhabiting public or collective space, which encompasses a wide variety of programmes.
- DAAD - Department of Architecture, Arts and Design
- CP1: Observation, analysis, and critique of domestic space, the building, and the urban context. CP2: Critical thinking and development of the design process. CP3: Drawing as a tool for conception, investigation, and communication. CP4: Domestic space, housing, and modes of dwelling. CP5: Scale, form, structure, and spatial organization. CP6: Housing and integration into the urban context. CP7: Housing typologies and notable examples of modern and contemporary architecture. CP8: Fundamentals of technical drawing and architectural representation. CP9: Models as tools for analysis, experimentation, and communication. CP10: Materials, techniques, and basic construction systems. CP11: Development of a small- or medium-scale housing project. CP12: Presentation and communication of the process and the architectural proposal.
A Avaliação Contínua (AC) é feita com a seguinte ponderação (para cada exercício):
20% 1ª fase: Análise, conceito base e proposta inicial
20% 2ª fase: Estudo e evolução da proposta
20% 3ª fase: Projeto e elementos finais
Continuous Assessment (CA) is weighted as follows (for each exercise):
20% Phase 1: Analysis, basic concept and initial proposal
20% Phase 2: Study and development of the proposal
20% Phase 3: Project and final elements
15% Phase 4: Final oral presentation of the pieces (written and drawn) and public critical discussion of the proposal
10% Attendance, demonstrated interest and quality of participation in classes
15% Individual development of the student and within the group and participation in workshops
The presentation of the curriculum assessment elements is preferably done in person, but may be done remotely if the distance learning system is in place.
The exam consists of the submission/improvement of the semester's work. A theoretical-practical test may be taken on the day of the exam.
Assessment during the appeal period (ER) is possible under the terms of the ISMAT Knowledge Assessment Regulations.
Assessment during the special period (EE) is possible under the terms of the ISMAT Knowledge Assessment Regulations.
- Semestral
- The Project III course focuses on developing critical thinking essential to the practice of architecture and the development of an architectural project. It aims to develop tools for developing projects in different contexts and conditions, always considering the living space. The course aims to provide a studio environment for drawing and discussion between students and teachers on the different subject areas that converge in the project. The theme for the first semester of the second year of Design is based on the topic: 'Domestic space and housing. Design: thought, drawing and space'. Thus, in terms of thematic approach, in the 1st semester of the 2nd year, the aim is to focus on the design process based on thinking and criticism (observation and analysis), design (process) and space (scale, form and structure).
