Strategic Management of Organizations

  • This curricular unit allows you to know the decisive importance of strategy and its influence on the activities of organizations, through the study of concepts, processes and cases.
  • Semestral
  • A aquisição de conhecimentos será aferida através de um teste de avaliação. O desenvolvimento de competências será aferido através da realização, apresentação, e da discussão de um trabalho de grupo ou individual, bem como a participação e trabalhos contínuos. Os coeficientes de ponderação no cálculo da nota final são os seguintes: Teste: 40%; Trabalho de grupo ou individual: 30%; Participação e trabalhos contínuos: 30%.

    Notas:

    1. Serão aprovados os alunos que tiverem nota final igual ou superior a 10 valores nos elementos de avaliação contínua acima indicados.

    2. Caso não sejam aprovados, terão de efetuar um exame e, no caso de não aprovação neste, poderão realizar exame de recurso.

  • Students will learn about strategic concepts applied to new companies and how to apply them to business internationalization. Provide students with knowledge about the impacts of digitization on the strategic development of new businesses and the transformation of business processes on a global scale. Students will learn through examples of how strategy is at the heart of the development of a business plan, how the plan gives expression and is articulated with the value proposition and the business model. How to prepare a Business Plan, what are its fundamental components and what are its objectives

  • This course utilizes student-centered active learning methodologies, promoting the practical application of management concepts. It employs case studies, problem-solving, simulations, and group work, stimulating critical thinking and decision-making. Digital tools are also used and, whenever appropriate, approaches such as problem-based learning and flipped classroom are employed, reinforcing the connection between theory and practice.

  • The CU of Ethics and Professional Deontology has in its programmatic substance, the fundamentals, theoretical and practical, of the rules of conduct in professional contexts, based on the fulfillment of the Codes of Ethics and Deontology. It has its relevance in the study cycle due to the importance it they have it in organizations, public and private. The main objective is to prepare and equip future Technicians of Advisory in Administration and Public Management, with the basic knowledge and skills of analysis and operationality of the tools acquired during the sessions.

  • This curricular unit aims to provide students with a theoretical and practical framework fundamental to the understanding of human behavior from a psychological and social point of view in an organization. It is also intended to analyze and interpret the various techniques for approaching human behavior, in order to promote the ability to understand the different realities and, consequently, understand the practices leading to the improvement of contexts.

  • Priority is given to the use of the expository method and active methodologies in situations in which it is intended to involve students, through their participation, in the themes addressed. Curriculum evaluation will be carried out through a written test and a practical work with oral presentation, in accordance with the timetable and syllabus of the CU.
