- In practical classes, the student has prior access to the experimental protocols to be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. These protocols are accompanied by a set of questions, in order to ensure individual preparation and, subsequently, the discussion of procedures and results.

- Students to acquire the skills / concepts required to understand the mechanisms involved in the functioning and regulation of immunologic mechanisms. Understand the structure and organization of the immune system. Understand intercellular communication. Acquire theoretical knowledge that allows a clear understanding of laboratorial practice. A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações obtidas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente Teórica consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 8 valores. A componente prática consta de 2 momentos de avaliação práticos realizados durante as aulas laboratoriais, A classificação mínima de cada momento é de 8 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5

- The Immunology Curricular Unit is based on an integrated and functional view of the sciences and technologies applied to diagnosis. It aims to equip students with skills that enable them, within a multidisciplinary team, to contribute to the best quality of care delivery. Its main objectives are to promote the acquisition of new knowledge and laboratory methodologies applied to Immunology and to address the integrated laboratory areas, in a multidisciplinary, transversal and integrative perspective, as a contribution to the correct prognostic and predictive assessment of the disease, as well as the response to therapy.

A avaliação final baseia-se numa componente prática, baseada em trabalhos práticos, participação nas aulas e assiduidade, e numa componente teórica baseada em testes escritos sobre os diferentes tópicos abordados. A componente prática terá um peso de 60% e a componente teórica terá um peso de 40%, na nota final. A nota mínima de ambas as componentes será de 8 valores. No caso de uma nota inferior a 8 valores numa das componentes, essa será a nota final de avaliação.
O aproveitamento nesta UC está dependente da frequência de um mínimo de 75% das aulas lecionadas no semestre.
As componentes prática e teórica são requeridas em todas as épocas de avaliação.
Assim, a época de recurso pode consistir em:
- Exame escrito: para os alunos que não tiveram aproveitamento na componente teórica em avaliação contínua.
- (Re)Submissão dos trabalhos: para os alunos que não tiveram aproveitamento na componente prática em avaliação contínua.

- Many programming projects involve solving complex computational problems, for which simplistic or naive solutions may not be efficient enough. The focus of this course is on how to design good algorithms, and how to analyze their correctness and efficiency. This is among the most basic aspects of good programming which has progressively become a major concern. This is therefore a particularly relevant CU for the the studies’ cycle.
