- M1: Theoretical-practical classes combining brief conceptual input with immediate application to the research topics. M2: Research-based learning through the progressive development of a scientific article, individually or in groups of two students. M3: Critical analysis of territorial policy instruments and guided classroom discussion. M4: Applied development of a conceptual GIS model related to the research topic. M5: Review and tutorial sessions during May, focused on improving the article and the GIS model. M6: Demonstrations and experimentation with GIS tools in articulation with CITAI-DATA, Integrated Territorial Data Platform Axis.

- O1: Understand the fundamentals of Geographic Information Systems as systems for representing, analysing and organising territorial data. O trabalho final poderá ser desenvolvido individualmente ou em grupo, com um máximo de dois estudantes. O desenvolvimento do artigo e do modelo SIG será acompanhado progressivamente ao longo do semestre. O mês de maio será dedicado à revisão dos trabalhos, apoio ao desenvolvimento do modelo SIG e preparação da apresentação final. Os estudantes impossibilitados de realizar a apresentação final na data prevista poderão apresentá-la em sessão de recuperação durante o mês de junho, mediante justificação aceite nos termos regulamentares.

- The Geographic Information Systems (GIS) course introduces students to the understanding of territory as an organised structure of spatial information. GIS is approached as a system for representing, analysing and integrating data, applied to Architecture, Urbanism, Urban Design and Spatial Planning. The course covers GIS fundamentals, geographic data models, BIM-GIS integration, Spatial Data Infrastructures and territorial Digital Twins. Students progressively develop a research project applied to a national or regional strategic instrument. Practical components and experimentation with GIS tools will be developed, whenever appropriate, in articulation with CITAI-DATA, Integrated Territorial Data Platform Axis, as a context for applied research and technological experimentation.
