- The course adopts active, student-centred methodologies, promoting problem-based and project-based learning within the Internet of Things context. The combination of theoretical–practical and laboratory sessions enables the immediate application of the addressed concepts. Guided Python-based laboratories are used with synthetic datasets and reproducible analysis for IoT data processing and interpretation. The development of an integrative project supports knowledge consolidation, critical thinking, and teamwork. Digital learning platforms are used to support continuous monitoring, material sharing, and formative feedback throughout the semester.

- By the end of this course unit, students will acquire fundamental knowledge of the Internet of Things, including IoT architectures, sensors, embedded systems, and wireless communication technologies, with emphasis on low-power solutions. Students will understand the integration of devices into data collection and processing platforms. Students will develop skills in acquiring, processing, and analysing sensor data using programming tools and basic time-series analysis techniques, as well as introductory competences in applying statistical methods and machine learning techniques to support monitoring in IoT systems. The course also promotes critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork, preparing students for academic and professional contexts in automation and intelligent systems.
- Introduction to the Internet of Things, including fundamental concepts, evolution, and main application domains. IoT architectures and system components, such as sensors, actuators, embedded systems, and gateways. Communication technologies for IoT, with emphasis on low-power and long-range wireless networks, particularly LoRa and LoRaWAN, their operating principles, parameters, and performance metrics. Device and data integration into IoT platforms. Acquisition, pre-processing, and analysis of sensor-based time series. Application of statistical filters for noise reduction and anomaly detection. Introduction to machine learning applied to IoT data, including supervised methods and basic concepts of Reinforcement Learning for adaptive decision support. Security, privacy, and reliability aspects in IoT systems. Development of laboratory activities and an integrative practical project combining communication, data processing, and intelligent analysis.

5 ou 6 mini-testes ao longo do semestre, de duas em duas semanas e de 1H30M de duração, abrangendo a matéria dada nas aulas (90%). Nota mínima de 9.5V na média dos 5 melhores testes. Na última semana de aulas serão recuperados até 2 mini-testes á escolha do aluno para compor a média. Avaliação do Desempenho da turma (disciplina e participação) - 10% da Classificação Final (igual para todos os alunos). São usados simuladores/CAD de apoio ao estudo das matérias. - The objective of this UC is to complement the study of the functioning of Computer Networks started in the first semester subject, following a strategy applied to the business context. Various existing solutions will be studied and best market practices will be adopted. Future solutions in the area will be presented. An example solution will be studied in its aspects so that the student has access to the entire construction process of a Web application.

- Espera-se que os alunos comecem a ser capazes de aprofundar a sua autonomia e segurança na resposta a perguntas sobre as leituras atribuídas ou formular as suas próprias questões de acordo com os seus interesses e/ou dúvidas. Uma vez que esta UC pretende desenvolver nos alunos competências de criação artística, privilegia-se a aprendizagem baseada em projectos (Project-Based Learning: PjBL) tomando como ponto de partida as preocupações enunciadas pelos estudantes, em resposta ao desenvolvimento de trabalhos anteriores ou novas preposições/caminhos a explorar, de acordo com o olhar sensível de cada um em relação às temáticas expressas nos CP (não sendo, no entanto exclusivas). As temáticas a desenvolver determinarão a escolha dos processos e estratégias adequadas a cada trabalho e aluno e serão orientadas e supervisionadas pelo docente.

CP3. Métodos de trabalho. A avaliação é faseada em 3 momentos, 2 periódicas e 1 final, incluindo o Dossier de Projecto. A calendarização é previamente comunicada proporcionando a auto-gestão e regulação das aprendizagens, permitindo assim ajustar, corrigir ou aprofundar os aspectos mais significativos comentados pelo docente.
A Classificação Final resultará de:
30% 1ª Avaliação Periódica: relativa à pesquisa e primeiras experimentações artísticas
30% 2ª Avaliação Periódica: desenvolvimento da pesquisa e das experimentações artísticas
30% Avaliação Final: Apresentação do trabalho desenvolvido e do Dossier de Projecto
10% Avaliação Contínua, intercalar e final com critérios de assiduidade (75% de presenças), participação nos debates e pontualidade.O exame de recurso é constituído pela entrega de todos os trabalhos originais (50%) e da apresentação oral dos mesmos (50%).
Os critérios gerais de avaliação são indissociáveis da pesquisa e experimentação realizada subordinada às temáticas propostas da actividade projectual, da participação presencial e dos diálogos estabelecidos com os docentes da unidade curricular, da experimentação (matérias, materiais e técnicas), bem como pela capacidade expositiva.

A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações obtidas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente Teórica consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 8 valores. A componente prática consta de 2 momentos de avaliação práticos realizados durante as aulas laboratoriais, A classificação mínima de cada momento é de 8 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5
