  • The General Biochemistry course will focus on the structure and function of biomolecules and on the mechanisms involved in the functioning and regulation of the metabolic pathways that are essential for functional homeostasis. The function of the main enzymes involved in the metabolic pathways and their role as a regulatory mechanism and potential therapeutic or diagnostic targets are also transmitted. Through laboratory practice, the student will not only perform non-invasive techniques, such as spectrophotometry, potentiometry, but also understand the implications of analytical and non-analytical errors.

Assessment is continuous and considers: knowledge acquisition, classroom performance, mandatory attendance (75%), attendance and punctuality, participation in discussions, team spirit and response to exercises. The final assessment considers self-criticism and the capacity for experimentation and resourcefulness. The appeal exam requires the delivery of all the exercises carried out in the semester (60%) and the answer to the exam exercise (40%).

    A avaliação em época normal inclui três componentes:

    -       Avaliação contínua, intercalar e final (10%)
    Com critérios de assiduidade (75% de presenças), participação e pontualidade;

    -       Exercícios de mapeamento conceptual (30%)
    Associados aos conteúdos programáticos, os exercícios de avaliação contínua, propostos em aula, resultam de uma dinâmica de debate entre pares. Culminam num mapeamento conceptual coletivo, subordinado à temática definida com a turma para realização do trabalho de grupo final. Esta cartografia tem materialização física na sala de aula durante as sessões de contato - através de técnicas de brainstorming analógicas - e digital - através de uma ferramenta colaborativa online, para inclusão de referências e recursos multimédia adicionais, como trabalho autónomo;

    -       Trabalho de grupo final (60%)
    O trabalho de grupo final consiste numa investigação coletiva, incluindo a realização de trabalho de campo com cocriação comunitária, subordinados a um tema a definir pela turma. O trabalho será materializado num artigo escrito e num ensaio audiovisual. Os ensaios serão apresentados e debatidos na sessão de defesa oral, num modelo híbrido de heteroavaliação e autoavaliação, resultante de uma dinâmica entre pares. Apesar de ser um trabalho de grupo, os estudantes serão avaliados individualmente, com a ponderação dos seus contributos individuais durante o processo.

    A avaliação em época de recurso está disponível para: os alunos com nota inferior a 10 valores; alunos que queiram fazer melhoria de nota; ou alunos que não cumpram a assiduidade obrigatória e/ou a entrega de algum dos elementos de avaliação em época normal. Estão previstas três possibilidades:

    -       Os alunos que não cumpriram com os critérios e elementos de avaliação em época normal: entrega e defesa do trabalho final individual com temática definida (50%) e realização de um exame escrito (50%);

    -       Os alunos que realizaram com sucesso o trabalho final em época normal, mas não cumpriram a assiduidade obrigatória ou os exercícios de avaliação contínua:  realização de um exame escrito (50%), transitando a sua nota do trabalho final com uma ponderação de 50%. Esta modalidade aplica-se, também, às melhorias de nota com reformulação do trabalho de grupo final, devendo ser aplicada a todos os membros do grupo;

    -       Os alunos que realizaram com sucesso os exercícios de avaliação contínua em época normal, mas não entregaram ou querem melhorar o trabalho final: entrega e defesa do trabalho final (60%) - individual ou em grupo, dependendo se os restantes membros realizam também a avaliação em época de recurso - mantendo a nota dos exercícios de mapeamento conceptual (30%) e a avaliação contínua (10%).

    A avaliação em época especial segue as modalidades da época de recurso e está disponível para os trabalhadores-estudantes ou estudantes com faltas justificadas por motivos de saúde (ou outro motivo previsto no regulamento escolar).

  • The homeopathic medicine is manufactured with substances extracted from the vegetable, animal and mineral kingdoms. These substances are manipulated and diluted to offer small doses of the active ingredient. A homeopathic medicine is a medicine obtained from substances called stocks or homeopathic raw materials, according to a manufacturing process described in the European pharmacopoeia, or failing that, in a pharmacopoeia officially used in a Member State, and which may have several principles. Homeopathy occupies a prominent place today due to the high degree of development of its practice, and because it is inserted in official and academic bodies.
