- Each theme to be developed must be framed in the intellectual and cultural conjuncture, in general, and, in the artistic one, in particular. M1- Drawing will be used insofar as it provides a better understanding of the architectural object and is a fundamental instrument in the formulation of its synthesis. M2- Use will also be made of written language in the form of descriptive synthesis and training in the observation of the architectural object. The specific vocabulary of each moment in history is thought of as a means of relating the architectural object with the respective construction methods, materials, meanings, etc. M3- Students are called to participate in all classes either through more direct answers to concrete questions or through reflections that emerge from the ongoing discourse.

- Understanding the practical and theoretical architectural panorama of the Middle Ages and its presence in current practice and theory of architecture. So the objecives ares the following: O1- Understanding the History and Theory of Architecture in the broader cultural context throughout History. O2- Understanding the relationship between theoretical and, as far as possible, the tecnologies aplied in building. O3- Understanding of the past and how it can be instrumental in thinking about the new issues that will arise in Architecture in the present and in the future. O4- Understanding of History as an instrumental discipline in thinking or projecting in Architecture.

- This UC will address as a theme the Middle Ages, the Carolingian and Merovingian proto-Romanesque and how it is part of the Byzantine evolution, but essentially the Romanesque and Gothic and the transition to the Renaissance. Like the other History of Architecture disciplines, it aims, beyond its scope, to constitute itself as a conceptual and instrumental basis for project disciplines. It intends that the student understand the various aspects associated with medieval architecture and also give the student the ability to know how to observe, seeing similarities and differences and the characteristics of different styles in Western culture. Make the student understand how shapes evolve to the present and be able to reason, responsibly, about their present.

- The teaching methodology includes the expository method (TME1) to present the necessary contents, the demonstrative (TME2) to illustrate its application to practical cases and the active (TME3) for solving exercises in the classroom, with and without recourse to the computer. The assessment of knowledge is made by continuous assessment or written test of the final exam. The continuous assessment includes two written tests with a weight of 21.25% each and a group work (42.5%) and active participation in classes (10%). Attendance will be an additional element of assessment with a weighting of 5%. Throughout the semester, Quizzes are made available after classes (about the given topic) or with a group of questions related to topics in the given subject as a way for students to assess their knowledge of the subjects already taught.

A avaliação será conduzida da seguinte forma:

21,25% — Teste de Avaliação 1 (teórico): aplicado sobre ferramentas da Engenharia de Software, uso de metodologias de software, entre outros.

21,25% — Teste de Avaliação 2 (teórico): focado nos conceitos de artefatos de software e testes de software.

42,50% — Projeto (prático): elaboração de artefatos de software aplicados a uma metodologia adequada, com ênfase em escrita acadêmica.

10% — Assiduidade: mínimo de 75% de presença nas aulas, avaliado durante todo o semestre.

5% — Participação: engajamento e contribuições ao longo do semestre.
Observação
A autoavaliação será considerada para a pontuação dos projetos, bem como para a análise das habilidades, competências e capacidade de autocrítica.

- Software Engineering teaches the design, code writing and testing, and maintenance of programs that have the purpose of solving complex problems with efficient and secure solutions. All previous course units have a greater focus on syntax and programming techniques while in this course students learn the techniques of designing and developing software in an efficient, readable, modular and scalable manner. This course unit is essential to develop the design and programming skills that students will face in the job market.

- Analyze the problems of evolution, the personality, the individual, the abstract / concrete and the theoretical / practical; answer certain methodological questions based on the evolutionary view on man, cultures and societies; understand the historical evolution of ideas and values and the need to think, feel, speak, do, act, that is the importance of perceiving and creating human reality. Skills to be developed: Identify with ease the important moments of contemporary thought; acquire the ability to present clearly the main ideas and debates in contemporary thought; assimilate the main methodological issues of contemporary psychological thought.
