  • In practical classes, the student has prior access to the experimental protocols to be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. These protocols are accompanied by a set of questions, to ensure individual preparation and, subsequently, the discussion of procedures and results.
  • Mandatory
  • Biology and genetics knowledge of bacterial cell, microbial taxonomy, microbial diversity resulting from mechanisms of change and transfer of genetic material. Antibiotics mechanisms of action and bacterial mechanisms of resistance. Fundamentals of Mycology and Parasitology. Experimental component of the course unit complements the theoretical component and aims for learning the safety rules and the most common techniques of microbiology. It is intended that students acquire fundamental and introductory knowledge for the study of other disciplines. The curriculum of the discipline contains the fundamental bases that precede the study of Clinical Microbiology and laboratory diagnosis of infections with bacterial, fungal and parasitic etiology, which is the object of course unit Clinical Laboratory Microbiology II.

A classificação final é

  • In the curricular unit of GClinical Laboratory Microbiology I are introduced  the knowledge  of biology and genetics of bacterial cell, taxonomy and microbial diversity as a result of changes in mechanisms and transferring genetic material. Fundamental knowledge of the mechanisms of action of some antibiotics and bacterial resistance mechanisms are transmitted. Mycology and Parasitology  fundamentals. The practical component complements the theoretical and the student will acquire the basic skills in safety standards and techniques m ore common Microbiology. Promotion of autonomy and accountability for laboratory tasks are important for development of critical analysis and ability to communicate information to peers.
