  • Expository, demonstrative and active methods. Problem solving. This curricular unit can be completed via continuous assessment or a single final evaluation. The final classification (CF) for the continuous evaluation mode is obtained from the marks obtained in both the written theory (T) and the practice (PL) components. The written component consists of two written tests on the theoretical contents. The minimum grade for each frequency is 9.5 values. The pratical component consists of two assessment moments, to be held during the classes and whose grade must be equal to or greater than 9.5 values. The final grade is calculated from the following formula: CF = 0.40 T + 0.60 PL. The classification of all assessment elements is expressed on a scale of 0 to 20, and the weighted value of the obtained marks must be equal to or greater than 9.5 values.

The curriculum unit of Computed Tomography Imaging is an essential component of courses related to the healthcare and diagnostic imaging field. In this discipline, students explore the principles and applications of computed tomography (CT). Students attending this curriculum unit will learn about the fundamentals of CT, including the physics behind the technique, different types of scanners, and image acquisition protocols. Additionally, they will be introduced to various types of pathologies that can be diagnosed through CT, ranging from musculoskeletal injuries to abdominal and thoracic diseases.

  • In this curricular unit, the Team-based learning (TBL) methodology is used, with tasks carried out in small groups, allowing the development of the ability to analyze and apply theoretical concepts. In practical classes, the student has prior access to the activities that will be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. Class session plans are accompanied by a set of questions, to ensure individual preparation, and later discussion of procedures and results.

  • Continue the reasoning, evaluation and diagnosis of Osteopathic Clinic Integrated I focused on cervical and upper and lower limbs, in the acquisition and development of specific skills. Demonstrate mastery of key concepts in the biomedical sciences to anatomical, functional and physiological level of the human body. Demonstrate knowledge in the realization of Osteopathic Assessment process, correctly performing the tests and diagnostic tests contained therein. Train the differential diagnosis in the evaluation process. Accurately interprets test results and evidence included in osteopathic evaluation process. Master knowledge that justify the selection and application of each technique as well as the contraindications of each. Hold the correction with osteopathic manipulative techniques from different body segments, dominating the contact, direction and characteristics of the force application.

    A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações adquiridas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente Teórica consta de uma frequência escrita e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 9,5 valores. A componente prática consta de um momento de avaliação prático realizado durante as aulas laboratoriais. A classificação mínima de cada momento é de 9,5 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5 valores.

  • In this curricular unit will be an integrated approach to therapy with osteopathic manipulative techniques to treat dysfunctions and conditions commonly found in clinical settings. Cervical spine and appendicular skeleton dysfunctions are described in terms of medical and osteopathic evaluation. Treatment principles and manipulative prescriptions are developed based on the understanding of evaluation according to the principles of osteopathy. Advanced treatment skills are developed and adjunctive therapies for osteopathy are described. The student has the opportunity to develop and implement a treatment plan for specific conditions.

  • The curricular internship is based on experiential learning in a professional context, articulating the theoretical and practical components of the trainning. Each student develops an internship plan supervised by a tutor from the Host Entity (HE) and accompanied by a professor from ESCAD, ensuring pedagogical coherence and formative integration. The evaluation is continuous and based on two elements. Thus, the final classification of the curricular internship will be expressed on a numerical scale of 0 to 20 points, resulting from a weighted average of the assessement criteria indicated in the regulations, according to the following weighting: a. evaluation of final report and internship - 75% b. evaluation of public presentation - 25%

  •  The teaching and learning methodologies of this course unit were designed to align fully with the institution's pedagogical model and the specific objectives of the unit. Adopting a primarily experimental teaching approach, the emphasis is on providing individualized tutorial guidance, allowing instruction to be tailored to the needs and levels of specialization of each student in the artistic, technical, and scientific domains of scientific drawing and illustration.  This method complements the learning objectives of the course unit by encouraging students to apply research methodologies and technical skills in a practical manner. Individualized tutorial guidance enables targeted attention to each student’s specific aptitudes.

  • Upon completing this Cycle of Studies, students should be capable of: a) Developing and applying research methodologies specific to the field of scientific drawing and illustration; b) Acquiring and applying technical skills and principles of design, in both digital and analog formats; c) Fostering expressiveness and graphic identity as key components in artistic communication, valuing originality; d) Cultivating critical thinking applied to visual narrative, adaptable to the artistic or scientific context of the specialization; e) Encouraging collaboration and interdisciplinarity in artistic projects, spanning platforms such as exhibitions and competitions; f) Communicating the results of artistic practice and research effectively, demonstrating competency in the area of Scientific Drawing and Illustration.

Planning and structuring of the project using a storyboard; 4. Composition, balance, and sequential narrative (visual clarity); 5. Practice of observational drawing (field drawing/graphic diary/sketchbook) and comparative, creative, and/or fantastical drawing in analog and/or digital form; 6.     De acordo com o Regulamento de Avaliação da IES, é mandatório que os estudantes cumpram com um requisito de presença mínima nas aulas para aprovação na unidade curricular. A falta de cumprimento desta exigência resultará na necessidade de prestação de exame.

    Exame de Recurso:

    O exame de recurso será dividido em duas partes: um exame prático que contará 50% e a apresentação de todos os trabalhos realizados ao longo do semestre, que também terá um peso de 50%.

    . Completion of an artistic project with subsequent presentation: 50%

    . Brief written reflection on the work process in the course unit (UC): 30%

    In accordance with the Assessment Regulations of the Higher Education Institution, it is mandatory for students to meet a minimum attendance requirement for passing the course unit. Failure to comply with this requirement will necessitate taking an examination.

    Resit Exam: The resit exam will be divided into two parts: a practical exam accounting for 50% and the presentation of all work completed throughout the semester, which will also carry a weight of 50%.
