- Convey a comprehensible and detailed knowledge of the human nervous system structure. Provide a comprehensive overview of nervous system function, with a particular focus on topics relevant to clinical neuroscience. Provide students with nomenclature of the central nervous system Understand and understand the interconnection and relationship of the nervous system with the other systems of the human body.
- 1.General configuration and organization of the central nervous system and ontogenesis. 2. Neurobiology of neuron and neuroglia. 3. Nerve fibers, peripheral nerves, terminating receptor and effector actions, dermatomes, myotomes, sclerotomes and muscle activity. 4.The spinal cord and the ascending and descending tracts. 5. Brainstem. 6.Cerebellum and its connections. 7. Brain. 8. Structure and functional location of the cerebral cortex. 9.Reticular formation and limbic system. 10. Basal ganglia and their connections. 11. Cranial nerve nuclei, their central connections and distribution. 12. Thalamus and its connections. 13. Autonomic nervous system o. 14.Meninges brain and spinal cord. 15.Ventricular system, cerebrospinal fluid and blood-brain barriers and cerebrospinal fluid-brain. 16. A componente escrita consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 8 valores. A componente prática consta duas frequências realizadas durante as aulas. A classificação mínima em cada frequência prática é de 8 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas em cada componente tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5 valores, para efeitos de cálculo da classificação final.

- The course leads students to study brain function from the cellular and synaptic level to the functional and system level. The content includes cellular and synaptic neuroscience and is designed to investigate different aspects of sensory systems, as well as higher order brain processing and dysfunction. Teaching is structured around the development of knowledge of brain function, from the cellular level to functional systems and approaches.

- .This UC intends to interconnect different but convergent areas of study, such as Portuguese Language and Language Development, worked on in previous years and Portuguese Language Didactics, available in the 3rd year. It is intended, therefore, that students acquire skills that meet the training profile necessary for the exercise of their future professional activity, encouraging research and raising awareness of the contribution that different knowledge makes possible in the teaching and learning process.
