  • In this curricular unit, the Team-based learning (TBL) methodology is used, with tasks carried out in small groups, allowing the development of the ability to analyze and apply theoretical concepts.

  • It is intended to show the student the characteristics of the different stages which are part of an chemical / toxicological investigation and that include the objective of the investigation/expertise, sampling, methodology of analyse and interpretation of results. It is intended that the student acquire knowledge about the importance of the implementation on Chemistry and Forensic Toxicology Laboratories of an Internal and External Quality Control, of a Quality Management System and the Accreditation by ISO/EN/17025.
  • Role of Analytical Toxicology in Forensic Toxicology; Fundamental concepts in Forensic Toxicology; The application of toxicological analyzes in legal medicine; Laboratory procedures for toxicological analysis: selection and collection of samples (biological and others found in the intoxicated scenario); Storage of samples until analysis; General schemes for the separation of toxicants in biological samples based on their chemical and physical characteristics; Methods of screening, unambiguous identification and quantification of toxicants; Principles of chemometrics; Principles of separation; Chromatographic techniques and separation and detection; Spectrophotometric techniques of quantification identification; Quality Control;

    A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações obtidas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente escrita consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequencia é de 8 valores. A componente prática consta de 2 momentos de avaliação práticos realizados durante as aulas. A classificação mínima em cada frequência prática é de 8 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas em cada componente, tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5 valores.

  • 1- Preparation and analysis of the load diagram of a manufacturing unit; 2- Conception of the LV electrical distribution network of the manufacturing unit, with the correct distribution of power across the different zones of the industrial process; 3- Elaboration of single-line diagrams of the various BT panels of the manufacturing unit, applying the standards and regulations in force; 4- Verification, in accordance with the standards and regulations in force, of the guarantee of protection of people and equipment.
  • Protection of people in power distribution: Risks in the use of electricity. Safety curves. Coordination; Selectivity; TT grounding diagram. Low voltage electrical installations: Assessment of power and location of loads; Power distribution structure, in TT scheme: Distribution networks. Dimensioning of distribution circuits and respective layouts. Electric vehicle charging stations
  • Considerando que o Projeto se insere num processo de avaliação contínua e que deve assegurar a segurança, a eficiência e a conformidade com as normas técnicas em vigor, definiram-se as seguintes etapas fundamentais:

    1. Levantamento de Necessidades
    • Identificação das necessidades elétricas do espaço (equipamentos, iluminação, tomadas, entre outros);
    • Análise do espaço físico e das condições existentes.

    2. Estudo Preliminar
    • Avaliação da viabilidade técnica e económica da instalação;
    • Definição das soluções e tecnologias mais adequadas ao contexto.

    3. Dimensionamento e Cálculos
    • Dimensionamento dos circuitos, cabos, disjuntores e demais componentes;
    • Cálculos de cargas, quedas de tensão, correntes de curto-circuito e sistemas de proteção.

    4. Elaboração do Projeto
    • Desenvolvimento das plantas e esquemas elétricos detalhados;
    • Especificação dos materiais, equipamentos e dispositivos a utilizar.

    Neste contexto, estabeleceu-se que os formandos devem proceder à entrega faseada da documentação desenvolvida, de acordo com a seguinte calendarização:

    • 1.ª Entrega – Levantamento de Necessidades

    • 2.ª Entrega – Estudo Preliminar + Dimensionamento e Cálculos

    • 3.ª Entrega – Elaboração do Projeto

  • In a post-secondary cycle of studies in the area of ¿¿technologies and engineering, the curricular unit assumes a very relevant role, as it allows students to acquire basic knowledge for the analysis, interpretation and correct design of electrical installations in an industrial context. The Energy and Power Project unit aims to introduce essential concepts and tools in the context of knowing the components such as: circuit breakers, switches, differentials, fuses, surge arresters and their applicability, coordination and limitations. It is also intended that the student knows the concept of industrial load diagram, in order to carry out a correct analysis of the powers in games and respective dimensioning of the associated installations.

  • In continuity with the curricular unit Research I, it will be developed  knowledge in the area of ¿¿collection and management of data, logic and procedure of publication and scientific dissemination, as well as a relevant approach to ethical issues of research per se or its publication and dissemination. In terms of skills and competences it is intended that students develop technical skills in the management of data, scientific writing, the use of media for presentations and develop an attitude in line with the ethical aspects of research. Thus, combined with a training model type scientist practiocioner, this course is also an approach to the further development of skills in scientific production and the ability to constantly search and update the scientific self-training (demand and active and motivated consultation adequate scientific information for professional performance).
