    A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações obtidas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente Teórica consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 8 valores. A componente prática consta de 2 momentos de avaliação práticos realizados durante as aulas práticas. A classificação mínima de cada momento é de 8 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 P. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5

  • The curricular unit aims to transmit to students a wide range of knowledge in the field of Quality, namely themes related to Quality Control and Quality Assurance. It is intended that students learn and apply statistical quality control techniques and methodologies that allow, monitoring and improving productive and industrial processes. The domains of the course give students the opportunity to learn how to solve problems in a structured way through the application of quality tools, to analyze data obtained through experimentation that will serve to optimize the performance of processes and product compliance, or even to measure and monitor the stability of processes and their ability to meet customer requirements, as well as the ability to perform audits.

  • Teaching is based on theoretical and practical classes. The students are motivated to assume an active attitude in the research of basic information, in the resolution of application problems and in the planning of the group works that will be assigned to them. The approval presupposes that the student succeeds: - in the 1st test (20%) and in the 2nd test (50%), in order to evaluate that the students have acquired the necessary knowledge about the programmatic contents; - group work (2 or 3 students per group) that reflects the knowledge acquired by the students, at the end each group will present their work to the other groups (50%). All students must participate in the evaluation activities, the attendance/commitment is valued at 10%, for students with at least 70% attendance. At the end of the semester, students may take an appeal exam (upon registration) which allows the student to replace one of the previous exams with a classification lower than 10 marks.

  • Know the electrical machines from the user's point of view and analyse their behaviour and applications based on their equivalent circuits. The students should acquire basic skills that will enable them to: OA1. to identify the importance of electrical machines; OA2. to recognise, distinguish and compare the different types of electrical machines; OA3. to understand the operation mode, equivalent circuit and construction characteristics of electrical machines; OA4. to use equivalent circuits of electrical machines to analyse their behaviour under various operating conditions under permanent regime; OA5. introduction to power Electronic converters.

  • Theoretical-practical methodology: verbal and audiovisual presentations (PowerPoint, videos, books) by the teacher, with examples and discussion, followed by a practical exercise. Demonstration of working methods, models and production structures in the classroom. The individual project abides by a tutorial regime, in which each student is accompanied by the teacher. The student is subject to continuous assessment and is assigned a grade at the end of the semester for their performance in the practical element of the course. Individual projects are evaluated according to the following criteria: concept; graphic and execution quality.

  • General Objectives: Study of zines as an expressive and visual communication tool. Learning the terminology and fundamental concepts of zines, their application to practical exercises, and development of an individual self-publishing project. Specific Objectives: Upon completion of this course, students 1) appreciate the role and the expressive and communicative power of zines, their definition and specificities, history and geographies, 2) acquire and employ the appropriate lexicon (fanzine, fanzinato, fanzinoteca, faneditor, fanálbum), 3) distinguish different typologies of zines in terms of media/production (graphzine, minizine, slimzine, webzine, prozine) and content/intention (political, personal, poetry, music, media fandoms), 4) learn to build a zine, acquiring notions of pagination (imposition) and production; 5) include the means of zine distribution in Portugal through festivals, fairs and book stores.
  • Theoretical-practical module: 1) Global history of zines and self-publishing culture: from Luther’s 95 Theses to e-zines. Zines in Japan: Comiket and the rise of d¿jinshi. History of the fanzine in Portugal, national fanzine personalities and zine libraries. Promoting and distributing zines in Portugal. The role of the faneditor. 2) Zine typologies according to media, production, content and intention: prozines compzines, graphzines, minizines, slimzines,, prose and poetry zines, webzines, political zines, perzines, media fandoms. 3) Creating a zine: technical and practical issues. Conceptualization, pagination, production. Printing techniques (photocopy, digital printing, risography). Zines for the web. Covers, customization, and unique elements. Practical module: individual self-publishing project.

  • In the curricular unit of  Microbiology are introduced  the knowledge  of biology and genetics of bacterial cell, taxonomy and microbial diversity as a result of changes in mechanisms and transferring genetic material. Fundamental knowledge of the mechanisms of action of some antibiotics and bacterial resistance mechanisms are transmitted. . The practical component complements the theoretical and the student will acquire the basic skills in safety standards and techniques m ore common Microbiology. Promotion of autonomy and accountability for laboratory tasks are important for development of critical analysis and ability to communicate information to peers.
