  • In practical classes, the student has prior access to the experimental protocols to be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. These protocols are accompanied by a set of questions, in order to ensure individual preparation and, subsequently, the discussion of procedures and results.

  • Provide a basic level general chemistry theory and introduce its application in some analytical methods, developing practical skills of problem solving and laboratory performance. Interpret and work with critical sense, the results obtained in the laboratory. Learning ability of taught concepts, analysis and application to new situations Proper communication of acquired concepts. Troubleshooting application. Competency in calculation and units. Using the concepts of general chemistry methods in volumetric analysis, spectroscopy and kinetics. Planning laboratory work Proper execution of experimental procedures using laboratory and instrument equipment. Manipulation, interpretation of data / results and their critical evaluation.     A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações obtidas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente Teórica consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 8 valores. A componente prática consta de 2 momentos de avaliação práticos realizados durante as aulas laboratoriais . A classificação mínima de cada momento é de 8 valores. A avaliação contínua do desempenho do aluno nas aulas laboratoriais (10%) A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,60 T + 0,40 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5

  • Theoretical-Practical teaching methodology, with interactive classes designed to introduce theoretical concepts and conduct exercises or system demonstrations. Practical classes aim to prioritize student autonomy. Learning objectives (LO) (1)-(5) are assessed in one final test or one exam, the grade for which will be the theoretical component (TC) of the assessment. Each student's final grade (CF) will be determined by applying the following formula: CF=CT*0.4+CP*0.6. The practical component (CP) is obtained by the following formula: CP=CP1*0.35+CP2*0.25. Where: CP1 - Group work (Presentation + report) CP2 - Presentation, analysis, and discussion of an academic article in the field of Information Systems To pass the course, students must obtain a minimum grade of 9.5 in both the CP and CT.

  • LO1: Explain the main concepts and types of information systems used by organizations; LO2: Make known the context of Information Systems and their role in the management of organizations, particularly in the field of decision-making support and business analysis; LO3:Develop the ability to design information systems, including relational database systems to support decision making in a business context; LO4: Demonstrate the ability to integrate information from the different organizational functions of a company, enhancing control and support in decision-making processes; LO5: Analyze and use information and knowledge, extracted from the information systems used by organizations, using for this purpose the most appropriate information system for each type of situation; LO6: Know, develop and appropriately use applications with a data access component, such as dashboards and other applications to support and analyze decision making;

  • Clinical Biochemistry will focus on the relationship between biochemical processes at the cellular level and the physiological processes that occur in mammals (more specifically in the human body), focusing on examples of altered biochemical processes in human diseases. In this sense, the student will have an integrated view of the various metabolic pathways and their regulation, with a greater emphasis on clinical correlations, which describe aberrant biochemical states in disease states (with biochemical and genetic detail), learning that biochemical parameters should be analyzed and monitored. This unit will have an important practical component where the student will use methodologies and analyze parameters used in a clinical laboratory, in order to develop the critical spirit, and the coherent form of presentation of results, which is fundamental in any professional area.
