  • The curricular unit adopts innovative methodologies focused on active learning and the development of practical skills. A project-based learning approach is applied, where each phase of the semester corresponds to the development of an applied practical assignment. Professional software tools (Word, Excel, C/C++, Fusion 360) are used in realistic contexts, promoting the integration of digital tools into the teaching-learning process. Collaboration in pairs and the use of digital sharing platforms foster cooperative work and student autonomy.

  • At the end of the curricular unit, students should be able to: Produce technical reports in Word, applying advanced formatting (styles, indexes, equations, tables, captions). Organize, process, and represent data in Excel, using formulas, charts, and pivot tables. Program in C/C++, understanding the fundamentals of structured programming. Design electronic circuits and develop PCBs in Fusion 360 Electronics. Create 2D and 3D models in Fusion 360, applying technical drawing concepts. Integrate documentation, data, and design into a complete technical project workflow. Develop transversal skills in written and oral communication, teamwork, and digital information management.

  • The curricular unit Computer Tools aims to provide students with fundamental skills in productivity software (Word and Excel), structured programming in C/C++, and technical software for engineering projects (Fusion 360 Electronics and 2D/3D CAD). It is part of the 1st semester of the Higher Professional Technical Course in Automation and Robotics, giving students a solid foundation for the preparation of technical reports, data analysis, algorithm development, and the integration of digital and physical solutions. This curricular unit acts as a transversal support to other subjects of the programme, contributing to the acquisition of both technical and communication skills essential for the professional profile of the Automation and Robotics technician.

  • This curricular unit takes place in a host entity (organization/company) and has a professional dimension. Throughout the internship period, duly tutored and supervised by the Business Advisor and Academic Advisor, the student has the opportunity to incorporate a very varied set of experiences, in different aspects, in the context of the activities in which they are involved.

  • In general terms, it is intended that students in an internship environment in the companies where they are inserted can: Apply, in a real context and in an integrated and interdisciplinary way, the knowledge acquired in the different components of training; Adapt and develop work habits according to the reality of a company; Demonstrate interpersonal relationship ability with differentiated interlocutors with ethical and deontological sense; Describe the technologies, products and services present in companies; Develop and practice in ampresarial environment the knowledge and techniques studied during the course; Use and extend the knowledge of the tools used in the company and generally in the market; Demonstrate ability of versatility and spirit of initiative; Demonstrate adaptability to the evolution of procedures and technologies; Develop and publicly submit reports and other documents.
  • The Internship, a Curricular Unit of the professional higher technical course in Development for Web and Mobile Devices, is carried out in a host entity, typically a company. To accompany the student throughout the Internship, the Institute will appoint an academic advisor and the company will appoint a business advisor. The student, in coordination with the supervisors, will prepare an internship plan with a description of the activities that must be developed within the scope of this curricular unit. At the end of the internship period, the student must prepare an Internship Report that will be the subject of a public presentation, and which will be submitted for final evaluation.

  • The Internship is a Curricular Unit integrated into the 4th semester of the study plan of the professional higher technical course in Development for the Web and Mobile Devices, as a training component in a work context. Its purpose is to allow the student to enter the work environment, performing functions related to their area of ¿¿training, and aims to apply the acquired knowledge to the practical activities of the respective professional profile. To this end, the Internship promotes the connection of students with host entities, with a view to enabling the application, in a real work context, of the knowledge acquired during the school component of the respective study cycle, as well as their respective consolidation, and development of new skills and competencies.

  • The teaching methodologies adopted seek to respect the balance between theory and practice in order to guide students to achieve the objectives proposed for the curricular unit. The aim is for knowledge to be acquired through research and critical analysis of the material taught, allowing for a deeper understanding, critical reflection, and an increase in theoretical and conceptual tools for a better comprehension and analysis of the program content.

  • The objectives of this course unit are, on the one hand, to transmit theoretical knowledge about state intervention in the economy and, on the other hand, to focus on the practices and models of action of the public sector. It is intended that students acquire knowledge about the economic role of the state and about public policies, namely the effects of taxes and public spending, as well as the institutional aspects in budgetary and fiscal matters most relevant in Portugal. The topics of justification for public intervention, policies to correct externalities, provision of public goods, taxation, and models of state organization and financing will be addressed theoretically, in terms of policies, and in terms of results, for a better understanding of state intervention in the Portuguese economy.

  • This course unit presents a set of fundamental themes on public economics. Its objective is to equip students with general knowledge of public economics, so that they can acquire skills regarding the role of the State in the economy, particularly concerning the specific situations that justify State intervention in the economy, whether to restore or improve the level of collective well-being, or to analyze the economic functions of the State, namely regarding the efficient allocation of economic resources, income redistribution, and economic stabilization. The State's financial resources, the financing of public expenditure and budgetary balance, as well as the role of representatives of collective choices and their relationship with collective well-being will be topics addressed in this course unit.

  • A componente escrita consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 8 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 T. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas em cada componente tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5 valores, para efeitos de cálculo da classificação final.

Students will be asked to compare, through use and analysis, the performance improvements achieved by using "LINT" tools in programming tasks.

  • A avaliação (NF) é composta por uma prova teórica de aferição dos conhecimentos (AC – vale 50% da nota final), pela apresentação de um projeto em grupo (PR - 40 % da nota final) e pela assiduidade e participação nas aulas (AP - 10% da avaliação final).

    Ou seja, a nota final será calculada da seguinte forma:

           NF = 0.5 x AC + 0.4 x PR.+ 0.1 x AP.
