A classificação final (CF) da unidade curricular por avaliação contínua é obtida a partir das classificações obtidas na componente escrita (T) e na componente prática (PL). A componente Teórica consta de duas frequências escritas e é relativa aos conteúdos teóricos. A classificação mínima em cada frequência é de 8 valores. A componente prática consta de 2 momentos de avaliação práticos realizados durante as aulas laboratoriais, A classificação mínima de cada momento é de 8 valores. A classificação final é calculada a partir da seguinte fórmula: CF = 0,50 T + 0,50 PL. A classificação de todos os instrumentos de avaliação é expressa numa escala de 0 a 20 valores, sendo que o valor ponderado das classificações obtidas tem de ser igual ou superior a 9,5

- The objectives are concretized in the syllabus of the different chapters. In addition to presenting the syllabus of the curricular unit using diverse resources, The aim is to develop skills in interpreting the situations presented, analysis, decision-making, methodologies and deductive reasoning. The concepts covered in each chapter through varied strategies, provide systematic use of real, applied and contextualized circuits and systems. This teaching-learning environment translates into greater motivation and more sustained learning, as it makes it possible to convey the importance of industrial automation fundamental to the course. Real demonstrations and simulation environments are carried out, as well as practical work to promote student autonomy.

- In a post-secondary cycle of studies in the area of technologies and engineering, the curricular unit assumes a very relevant role, as it allows students to acquire basic knowledge for the analysis, interpretation and correct sizing of automatisms in an industrial context. The Industrial Automation unit aims to introduce essential concepts and tools in the context of knowing components such as: instantaneous relays, timed relays, contactors, sensors, directional valves, hydraulic and pneumatic action cylinders and their applicability, coordination and limitations. It also intends that the student be able to choose between the different technologies with the aim of carrying out a correct analysis of the problems presented.

- The classes will have a highly practical nature, although there will be a set of guidelines and theoretical clarifications that should precede the execution of activities. The methodology used is based on the following strategies: (a) Revision of spelling and grammar rules through the practice of reading, summarizing and interpreting texts and content provided through different audiovisual supports; (b) Group work on content made available through different audiovisual media; (c) Clarification of relevant aspects and techniques to improve and optimize students' performance; (c) Execution of exercises for consolidation and practice of techniques and knowledge acquired and their application in new situations. Students will be encouraged to take part in activities to resolve doubts, eliminate errors of expression and apply knowledge to new situations. They will thus have frequent opportunities to improve their oral and written expression skills.

It is important in this curricular unit develop not only the correct and effective use of the Portuguese language, but also the improvement of oral and written communication skills.
