- In practical classes, the student has prior access to the experimental protocols to be carried out in each class session, which allows for prior reading and preparation. These protocols are accompanied by a set of questions, to ensure individual preparation and, subsequently, the discussion of procedures and results.

- This CU aims at learning and practice of laboratory analytical techniques for assessing the overall constituents of the food and foodstuffs and the limits for contaminants in drinking water, and their regulatory compliance and consumer information on labelling. It is also included a chapter on sensory analysis. Acquire skills in instrumental techniques for chemical, physical and microbiological current laboratory analysis of food and water. Skills to be acquired by the student: Master concepts related to the study of the most important parameters in the physical-chemical and microbiological analysis of water and food. Evaluate and interpret the results according to the law and/or regulations in force and to understand the implications of the results for public health. Be equipped with the technical knowledge necessary for the development of laboratory work on assessment and control quality of food and water for various consumption types including biomedical sciences (e.g. dialysis).
- Water laboratory analysis and food- impact on public health. Sampling. Analytical methods based on the physico-chemical composition in different food matrices.. General procedures: moisture, nitrogenous compounds, carbohydrates, fat, ash, and dietary fiber. Physical properties of foods. Microbial ecology of foods. food preservation, food infections, and food poisoning. Food Safety. Water Quality and legislation - origin, general composition, pollution, and treatment. Water Quality Assessment of pools, bathing areas, and hemodialysis water. Determination of physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters in natural mineral water, spring water, and bottled human consumption.

- This UC aims to introduce Caricature drawing and Cartoons to provide students with tools for execution and technical framework in these two areas of illustration. Understand how caricature and cartoons integrate concepts of exaggeration, humor and social criticism. Know the fundamental principles of caricature and cartoon drawing: history, styles and techniques. Understand caricature and cartoon as a communication tool and graphic humor. Identify the structuring characteristics for the construction of a regular human face and make the changes (exaggerations) q.b that lead to its caricature without losing the recognizable aspects. Carefully use drawing techniques and tools for this procedure. Creatively explore drawing to show a caricatured view of reality in short narrative sequences - cartoons. To understand and authorally explore the design of exaggeration as an expression of an individual and social critical judgment.
- History, objectives and examples of techniques used in caricature and cartoon From the mimetic portrait to the caricatural portrait: build the head; draw hair, eyes, nose and mouth (how to position the elements of the human face and hair symmetrically). What to keep and what to transform, style and exaggerate. Move from contour drawing to volume drawing. Contrast enhancement. The mini narrative of the cartoon: telling anecdotes at least in boxes. Simplifying design and text for immediate reading and visualization. Techniques to use during the semester: Pencils and digital pencils, watercolor (supports and brushes, paints, mixtures) and digital brushes for coloring. graphic diary

- "The human species is the only biological species genetically programmed to acquire the highly complex, structured and specific systems that are natural languages" (LM in Basic Education, 1997,p.15). In recent decades, we have seen a huge development of knowledge about how children acquire language, not always free of controversy. The acquisition of language allows the child, among other things, to express themselves, organize information, build their identity and enter the horizon of reading and writing. This UC, which includes teacher training for two distinct levels (Kindergarten and 1st CEB), aims to be a space for learning and reflection, fostering knowledge about the complexity of this procurement and development process
