- Classes will begin with a presentation of the fundamental concepts of each topic, followed by a demonstration of their practical application through exercise solutions, both in the classroom and independently. This methodology aims to encourage active student participation and the development of autonomy and self-regulated learning skills. The expository method will be used to introduce the content, which will allow for the structuring of logical reasoning and facilitate the organization of knowledge. Additionally, the interrogative method will be used to assess the level of understanding and theoretical consolidation of the content covered in each chapter. Regarding the practical aspect, the demonstrative method will be used, with the presentation of illustrative examples, as well as active and participatory methods, which promote individual student engagement.
- Mandatory
- Explain the basic concepts of mathematics. Perform algebraic operations in different bases. Perform conversions between bases. Represent and perform operations with sets. Define Boolean algebra and utilize its properties. Use truth tables to identify the logical value of propositions. Perform operations with matrices. Use graphs to model and interpret problems. Explain how the mathematical tools introduced apply to computer science. Analyze and interpret a statistical problem. Analyze and identify situations and calculation methods to adopt for specific problems.
- 1. Operations with bases 2. Set theory, logic, and Boolean algebra 3. Matrices and matrix operations 4. Graph theory 5. Elementary notions of statistics
(*) A realizar no decorrer do semestre.

- The Mathematics course is a key component of many programs, especially in Science, Technology, Economics, Management, and Engineering—as is the case at CTeSP in Computer Networks and Systems. The main objective of this course is to provide students with a solid foundation in essential mathematical concepts, such as operations with different numerical bases, logic, set theory, linear algebra, graphs, and statistics. This knowledge is essential not only for more advanced courses but also for dealing with real-world problems that arise in various fields. Throughout the course, theoretical and practical tools are combined to help students think in a structured and logical way. The goal is for them to be able to interpret problems, find solutions, and apply concepts in a practical way. Furthermore, this course seeks to stimulate critical and analytical thinking, demonstrating the usefulness of mathematics in everyday life, helping students prepare for the future.

- The complexity and globalization of competition have made quality one of the essential factors for small and medium enterprises to achieve a competitive advantage in the market. Quality in business processes, from production to customer service, constitutes a fundamental differentiating element for operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. For the reasons stated, implementing quality management systems has become vital, as well as certification of SMEs based on internationally recognized technical standards. Since small and medium enterprises are characterized by limited resources but high flexibility, it is essential to ensure quality at each stage of their processes, guaranteeing resource optimization, waste reduction, and continuous improvement to achieve operational excellence and business sustainability.
