  • Theoretical-practical classes adopting active methodologies: discussion, Flipped classroom, analysis of conceptual issues and real cases, and adopting the problem-solving learning methodology. In the classes, we will seek to encourage the involvement and active participation of students, both at the individual level and at the level of cooperative and collaborative group work. The teaching methods aim to develop the knowledge referred to in the syllabus and its application. The different methodologies emphasize the approach to learning from a perspective of complexity, with students being called upon to take an active role among others. The evaluation incorporates products, processes, and self-assessment.

  • Given the complexity of social, territorial and environmental issues, the course aims to foster critical thinking through a transdisciplinary approach, drawing on the intersection of various fields of knowledge. The course provides students with direct exposure to research and teaching practices. The aim is to broaden understanding of the complexity of the place children occupy in the contemporary world: environment, territory and society. Through education, this module aims to guide society, insofar as it is capable of shaping social life, acting as a mediating force and serving as a means to bring about a more open and sustainable vision of society.

  • The formal rules for presenting a written work: cover; index; introduction, object, objectives, theoretical foundation, methodology, enunciation of subthemes in the chapters; theme development; conclusion; bibliography; quotes; pagination; appendices and attachments. The organization of the research: the formulation of a starting question; the literature review; definition of the problem; construction of the analysis model; the formulation of hypotheses. Data collection techniques: the different sources of information; Sampling; The questionnaire survey; the interview. Case analysis (participant observation, life stories and monograph). Analysis and interpretation of results: content analysis; analysis and treatment of quantitative data. Organization and writing of the internship report.

  • As a predominantly theoretical course, this unit focuses on analytical writing exercises and oral presentations based on both students' own work and the work of others. Lectures provide the conceptual frameworks for the topics under discussion, supported by examples of significant works in each area that serve as models for students' subsequent research and critical analysis. By promoting the integration of knowledge across other course units, this approach also enables students to develop a stronger theoretical foundation for their own creative projects.

  • Develop analytical and critical discussion skills concerning graphic and visual narratives, including their visual, compositional, and structural aspects, as well as their literary and narrative dimensions, and, naturally, the interrelationships and remediations among these elements. Develop critical skills for the evaluation and appreciation of new forms of graphic narratives, taking into account the broad historical, social, political, aesthetic, and stylistic contexts in which they are situated. Foster familiarity with genre production, global modes of production and circulation, and the social functions of contemporary comics. Encourage the highest level of proficiency in the understanding and use of digital tools and technologies related to the creation, production, consumption, distribution, and circulation of new projects.
  • Formal, stylistic, and artistic characteristics of different modes of narrative drawing, with particular emphasis on comics. Historical overview of the major global production centres, especially Portugal, and distinctions between literary genres and stylistic traditions. Comics as a formal, material, economic, technological, and distributive medium. Critical examination of the principal approaches to comics scholarship and the development of critical judgement. Introduction to post-cultural studies and interpretative frameworks addressing ideology, society, class, nationhood, ethnicity, gender, and sexuality as dynamic and evolving processes. Development of analytical and critical methods for the interpretation and evaluation of works of art, with particular emphasis on comics.

    O exame de recurso é dirigido a quem reprova por faltas, quem reprova em avaliação contínua (nota final inferior a 10 valores). Consiste na apresentação oral de um trabalho individual cujo assunto é determinado entre o docente e o estudante.

The aim is for students to acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas: Identifying and analyzing internal and external factors that influence the compensation system; Understanding different approaches to compensation management in organizations; Applying the concepts of designing a compensation system; Defining a strategic compensation management policy in organizational contexts.
  • Evolution of compensation: from traditional salary to strategic management. Concepts: value of salary for individuals, organizations, and society. Total Rewards & EVP: integration of compensation, benefits, culture, and development to attract/retain talent. Total compensation: Fixed: base salary, supplements, collective agreements. Variable: bonuses, incentives, commissions, profit sharing, stock options. Benefits: health, well-being, education, retirement, mobility. Intangibles: recognition, growth, flexibility, organizational climate. Internal/external equity: job evaluation, salary surveys, benchmarking.   • The Strategic Compensation Management unit focuses on the fundamentals of Management from a strategic perspective of compensation in professional contexts, based on the fulfillment of the programmatic content.
