- In accordance with the reflective and exploratory nature of this course unit, students are expected to experiment with different tools and working methods. The aim is to diversify the modes of reflection. M1: Expository lectures; M2: Text analysis groups; M3: Collective discussion; M4: Individual written reflections; M5: Guided group work; M6: Public presentations.

- For architectural theory to maintain its relevance, it must retain its historical significance as observation (the¿ria) and theatre (theã). While the former grants the observer a certain agency over the object seen, the latter transfers agency to the means (or medium) of framing, performance, and/or visualization. More than simply reviewing theories more or less established by disciplinary tradition, the aim is to understand the major debates of today. Therefore, the student is expected to be able to: O1: Identify - perceive problems and characterize them, analyze and interpret contemporary debates and their implications and contributions to and from architecture; O2: Reflect - construct a thoughtful position on these debates through justified and coherent argumentation; O3: Communicate - develop a discourse with clarity and precision in the instruction and organization of oral, written, and visual records.

- The course is divided into different themes that characterize and interrogate contemporary disciplinary debates. For each theme, several works and projects are presented that highlight its architectural manifestation. To support the discussion, there is a set of content and authors who, privileging different geographies, genres, cultures, and disciplines, will serve as starting points for reflection. S1: Knowledge - and the conditions of its construction; S2: Digital - and the technologies that transforms life; S3: Work - and the precariousness of immaterial labor; S4: Human - and its redefinitions, transformations, and expansions; S5: Planet - and the means of extractive production; S6: Economy - and the supposed imperative of the neoliberal market; S7: Politics - and the place of emancipation of citizens.

> Perceção dos problemas e sua caracterização, análise e interpretação;
> Densidade da argumentação, justificação e coerência das posições apresentadas;
> Qualidade, rigor e clareza na instrução e organização nos registos (documental e oral), incluindo as formas de comunicação e representação;
> Pertinência, consistência e objetividade do trabalho desenvolvido.
Nos alunos em que seja aplicado o Regime Especial de Avaliação de acordo com o artigo 6º conforme Despacho Conjunto 06/25do Regulamento Geral de Avaliação do ISMAT, estes devem informar durante a primeira semana de aulas o docente para que se acorde, entre ambos, outras datas e/ou modalidades alternativas de avaliação (que podem passar por provas orais, escritas ou apresentação de trabalhos suplementares). Caso não haja lugar esta comunicação, considerar-se-á o aluno em regime de avaliação contínua, sujeito às mesmas regras daqueles que não se encontram ao abrigo deste Regime Especial.
Avaliação em Exame (regular e época especial)
A avaliação em exame será realizada através de uma prova escrita. A sua classificação rege-se de acordo com a seguinte ponderação:

> Pertinência, consistência e objetividade do trabalho desenvolvido.
Esta Unidade Curricular rege-se pelo Regulamento Geral de Avaliação do ISMAT, conforme Despacho Conjunto 06/25. De acordo com o artigo 5º, esta FUC apresenta normas específicas e complementares. Os alunos com menos de 70% de presenças serão reprovados, salvo exceções previstas no regulamento; a presença na aula será considerada quando o aluno assistir, no mínimo, a 70% do tempo da aula. Nesta Unidade Curricular, todos os exercícios devem ser desenvolvidos pelos alunos, não sendo permitido o uso de ferramentas de Inteligência Artificial e/ou Inteligência Artificial Generativa, ou outros instrumentos usados para criar texto, imagens, código informático, áudio ou outro media. O uso destas ferramentas será considerado uma violação do Regulamento de Avaliação do ISMAT e tido como uma forma de fraude, com as sanções previstas no Regulamento. O não acompanhamento dos trabalhos significa uma avaliação negativa dessa fase. Os trabalhos entregues fora do prazo não serão avaliados. As Avaliações Contínuas e as provas de Exame começarão no horário estabelecido, devendo todos os alunos inscritos estarem presentes e assinarem a pauta. Haverá 15 minutos de tolerância, findos os quais a avaliação começará avaliando só os alunos presentes. - In etymological terms, theory, from the Greek the¿ria or the¿ros, means to look at, see, contemplate, but also, consider, speculate. It is a point of view, a perspective on things, their description and, of course, an attempt to understand them, to give them meaning. In general terms, theory can be defined as a way of seeing, understanding, explaining and clarifying events or objects. Theory is also a way of questioning assumptions, present realities and the way in which discourse is formed and maintained. Its task is to make sense of the world and form intelligible narratives, orienting from the particular to the universal through abstraction. It is through the articulation between the abstract and the concrete that theory has the capacity to act, in contrast, for example, with philosophy. This is the capacity that allows theory to be an instrument of intervention, and of change, in a rapidly changing world. Theory is a way of thinking and acting.

- The teaching methodology includes the expository method (TM1) to present the contents, the demonstrative method (TM2) to illustrate its application to practical cases and the active method (TM3) to solve classroom exercises, with and without the use of a computer, using Problem-Based Learning. The assessment is made by continuous assessment or written exam. The preferential assessment scheme is the continuous assessment throughout the semester, consisting of two written tests (individual) with a weight of 35% each, a group work (two or three students) with a weight of 20% and active participation in classes with a weight of 10%.

- In the business context, events and results are produced or influenced by the combined effect of numerous decisions made by the manager. Operational research involves a set of methodologies that aim to structure processes and support decision making through model building. In this curricular unit, the main concepts and techniques of Operational Research are presented and their application is illustrated in optimization problems, aiming, for example, to minimize costs, maximize profits, choose the best routes and use resources efficiently. This curricular unit prepares students to be better managers by developing important decision support skills.

This course unit aims to introduce the key concepts, technologies, and methodologies associated with web development, equipping students with the skills to design, implement, and maintain web pages and systems. It also seeks to foster an understanding of the various components of a web application, ranging from content structuring to user interaction and information processing. The Web Programming course unit aims to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills needed to develop web projects, thereby meeting the needs of Information Technology companies or any organization that relies on digital systems and requires the implementation, updating, or maintenance of web solutions.
