- The teaching methodology of this curricular unit is based on a theoretical approach, through the exposure of contents in classes, with the aid of audiovisual materials, bibliography and access to support materials previously prepared by the teacher (presentations, guides, lists, references). These materials are delivered via Moodle and institutional e-mail and later discussed in class. Practical exercises oriented towards the investigation and needs of each student are also be carried out, including the simulation of some steps necessary to carry out the MA dissertation: identification of a question; formulation of a title, subtitle, and keywords; writing a comment (from an object to be selected); partial simulation of an article; dissertation project writing simulation. Time is also reserved for face-to-face and e-mail tutorial guidance.

- This curricular unit aims to provide MA students with tools in the specific methodologies of research in art. It provides an understanding of research in the current scenario, its definition, methodologies, and surrounding issues (nationally and internationally), and focuses on the specific case of research in art. It intends to provide students and researchers with theoretical and practical knowledge that will give them autonomy to pursue their projects and scientific investigations with rigor. For this, tools will be provided for understanding, researching, reading, and developing critical thinking, own and effective methods of study, writing tools and construction of arguments and documents, as well as understanding of their own artistic process, and the creation of means to translate, explore, and share this process with the scientific community in a critical and relevant way.

A avaliação é realizada combinando elementos de avaliação contínua (10%) e avaliação final (90%).
A avaliação contínua compreende assiduidade (5%) e participação (5%) nas aulas.
A avaliação periódica tem dois momentos:
A 1a avaliação periódica (45%) incide sobre três exercícios realizados ao longo de nove semanas que consistem na simulação e aplicação dos formatos propostos e praticados no meio científico (escrita de um comentário monográfico; estruturação de um artigo; preparação de uma conferência), que demonstrem a compreensão e aplicação das ferramentas metodológicas propostas nos conteúdos da unidade curricular;
A 2a avaliação periódica e final (45%) incide sobre a realização de um projeto de dissertação que demonstre autonomia na aplicação das ferramentas de investigação, análise de diversas fontes e pertinência na integração da investigação do estudante no contexto científico.

- The evaluation will be continuous and without final exam, where students are evaluated in 6 exercises throughout the semester. These exercises will be submitted in moodle and evaluated by the same platform. The participation will have a weight of 20% of the total grade of the Course. Exercises to perform: Exercise 1 - 10% Exercise 2 - 15% Exercise 3 - 15% Exercise 4 - 15% Exercise 5 - 15% Final project - 30% Participation and interest 20% + Exercises 80% In the event that the Curricular Unit is not completed by continuous assessment, there will be an appeal exam, in which a practical exercise will be awarded with a price of 20 points.

- Master all the main and fundamental concepts, coupling all their terminology, from the audiovisual world. Learn and obtain solid knowledge of the handling of the available material from the Audiovisual and Multimedia Department, as well as, immediate evaluation of the image in real time. Master plans and camera movements that can be used in fiction, documentary, short films, and video works from other curricular units
- Understand the audiovisual world, starting with the technical terminology of image capture and sound capture, with professional cameras. Team work, recreating a filming environment for different contexts that may be presented in the future of the course. Use and incentive to use different scales of plans, image composition and camera movements, depending on the different narrative styles.

- The curricular unit includes: 1 - theoretical-practical classes explaining the program contents, complemented with the resolution and discussion of practical exercises. 2 - Practical classes in a computer laboratory that will allow learning and use of the software to carry out the statistical analyzes covered in the UC and the corresponding interpretation of the results. The final grade corresponds to a weighted average of two evaluation components: i) two moments of continuous assessment whose value will be 60% for tests and 30% for practical group work, ii) participation worth 10% of the final grade. The weighted average of the components, rounded to the nearest unit, must be at least 10 values ¿¿to be approved. At no point in the evaluation can the grade be lower than eight points. FINAL EXAM: If the student chooses not to be in continuous assessment, they will be subject to a final exam.

- Students are expected to: A.Understand the basic concepts of descriptive statistics; B) have learnt the basic concepts of probability theory and random variables, and how to apply them correctly; C) master the most important theoretical distributions (discrete and continuous), in particular the Normal distribution, Binomial and t of "Student"; D) master basic concepts of sampling and sample distributions; E) know how to use point estimation and confidence intervals; F) be familiar with the SPSS statistical software.
