- Synchronous distance learning: 1. Expository, interrogative and interactive methods: Presentation/exposition of concepts using the expository method and consolidation through interrogative and interactive methods. All pedagogical support elements are available through the Moodle platform. Face to face: 2. Tutorial guidance. Development of content, through small assignments/exercises that promote discussion and consequent understanding of the content. 3. Laboratory practice. Deepening the content whenever the content is appropriate. Autonomous: 4. Reading the bibliography recommended in each class. The teacher provides feedback (Tutorial Guidance – OT) on the results obtained by the student in solving the proposed problems, in person in a classroom context or remotely in asynchronous mode via the Moodle platform.

- The teaching approach adopted is based on the active method, encouraging co-operative (peer) and creative learning. Face-to-face: 1. theoretical-practical teaching: Presentation of concepts and discussion of programme contents. 2. Laboratory practice: Completion of worksheets to analyse and interpret the results obtained; Critical analysis of case studies related to the subject area of the course. 3. Simulated practice: Scenarios and situations that allow students to explore real-world situations related to the subject area of the course, applying the fundamental maths concepts exposed and developing critical thinking. Consolidation of the content taught in class by researching additional information on the different topics covered and developing additional work related to solving concrete problems and group dynamics.

- The objectives of the curricular unit are: - Develop the reasoning capacity of students; - Providing the basics of quantitative methods, usually applied in the fields of economics and management; - Provide students with knowledge regarding the selection of methods and processes that are best suited to solve a particular problem; - Use correctly the language of mathematics in the development of calculation techniques that build or deepen knowledge essential to the continuance of studies in the following years.
