  • The content will be presented in in-person sessions with thematic discussion, guided practical sessions, and the development of practical assignments. The Problem-Based Learning (PBL) methodology and Case Studies are adopted, promoting active, student-centered learning through the resolution of complex real-world problems.

  • Understand the importance of production management within the context of business management. Understand the tools and techniques used in production and operations management. Present the essential aspects of product design. Plan material and resource requirements (MRP). Perform production scheduling and sequencing. Apply demand forecasting and inventory management methods. 
  • The Production Management course unit focuses on the organization, planning, and control of industrial processes. It covers production challenges, flows, human aspects, and types of production, as well as production and operations strategy, including decision-making, objectives, and resource utilization. Students learn demand forecasting, material and resource requirements planning (MRP), scheduling, and sequencing, applying heuristic rules and evaluation methods. The unit also introduces process modeling and simulation, basic queuing concepts, and inventory management, including EOQ and classical methods. The course develops competencies to plan, analyze, and optimize production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • A aquisição de conhecimentos sobre Gestão da Produção será aferida através de dois teste de avaliação.

    Os coeficientes de ponderação no cálculo da nota final são os seguintes:

    1º Teste  50%;

    2º Teste:  50%.

    - Serão aprovados os alunos que tiverem nota final igual ou superior a 10 valores nos elementos de
    avaliação acima mencionados.

    - Caso não obtenham aprovação durante a frequêcia das aulas, poderão de efetuar a avaliação final.

  • The Production Management course unit is part of the Industrial Management area, addressing the organization, planning, and control of production processes. Its field of action includes the management of human, material, and technological resources, production scheduling, capacity planning, and flow optimization. It operates in the domains of process design, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency, providing essential support for strategic and operational decision-making. The course unit is relevant within the study cycle as it develops key competencies for the integrated management of production systems, enabling students to understand, analyze, and improve industrial processes while promoting productivity, quality, and sustainability.

  • The teaching approach is based on the active method, co-operative and creative learning. Face-to-face: 1. theoretical-practical teaching: Presentation of concepts and discussion of programme contents. 2. Laboratory practice: Critical analysis of case studies related to the legal nature of tourism businesses. 3. Simulated practice: Scenarios and activities that allow students to explore real situations and solve problems related to tourism, applying the fundamental concepts and developing skills in solving problems of a legal nature for businesses and visitors, through collaborative learning. Autonomous: 4. Consolidation of the content taught in class by researching additional information on the different topics covered and developing additional work related to solving specific problems and group dynamics.

  • The objectives of the course are: O1. To understand the preliminary notions of law, including its importance in society, its origins and the main characteristics that distinguish it as a normative system; O2. To analyse the international, national and sectoral scope of tourism legislation, highlighting how these different spheres impact on the regulation and development of the tourism sector; O3. Explore the legal system of tourism companies, understanding the rules that govern the sector; O4. Analyse the importance of the Complaints Book in the context of tourism, highlighting its role in the protection of consumer rights and the continuous improvement of tourism services; O5. Study the main funding and incentive programmes for tourism.

  • Avaliação curricular (contínua): 

    A avaliação da unidade curricular, em regime de avaliação contínua, é composta por:

    - Frequência escrita: 40% da nota final; 

    - Trabalho de grupo com discussão e apresentação: 40% da nota final; 

    - Atividades teórico-práticas realizadas em aula: 20% da nota final. 

    Todos os estudantes que, neste regime de avaliação, obtenham média inferior a 9,50 valores serão automaticamente avaliados em avaliação final. 

    Os trabalhadores estudantes devem contactar a docente para esclarecimento de dúvidas relativas aos trabalhos de caractér obrigatório. 

    Avaliação final: 

    A avaliação final será realizada através de exame teórico-prático (100%), integrando tanto a componente teórica como a componente prática da unidade curricular. 

    Épocas de recurso e especial: 

    Nos casos de recurso ou época especial, a avaliação será igualmente concretizada através de exame teórico-prático (100%), abrangendo as componentes teórica e prática da unidade curricular.
