Skills to be developed by students: Promote research, analysis, and interpretation skills in terms of research methodology; Develop skills that enable the construction of an integrative and functional individual perspective based on the research carried out, whose conclusions allow the researcher to develop intervention models in organizational contexts in order to promote the development of individuals and the contexts in which they operate; Develop a conceptual and practical frame of reference in relation to intervention issues in different organizational contexts. Design and plan studies and research projects following ethical principles and making appropriate use of tools based on generative artificial intelligence.

  • Provas públicas perante um júri nomeado pelo Conselho Técnico-Científico nos termos definidos no regulamento de dissertações / trabalho de projeto de cursos / estágio de 2.º ciclo em vigor nas instituições proponentes. O júri será composto por três a cinco membros podendo um destes ser o orientador. Nos casos em que exista mais do que um orientador apenas um pode integrar o júri. Os membros do júri devem ser especialistas no domínio em que se insere a dissertação ou o trabalho de projeto e são nomeados de entre nacionais ou estrangeiros titulares do grau de doutor ou especialistas de mérito reconhecido como tal pelo Conselho Técnico-Científico da IES.

  • The curricular unit is articulated with the CU History of the Cities, with joint sessions on Thursdays dedicated to the presentation of contents, case study analysis, and public debate of the projects. This articulation is structured to ensure that both CUs remain independent. On Fridays, work takes place in the studio, in a laboratory format, with close guidance from the teaching staff. The project is divided into two phases: — Proposal for the architectural transformation of the urban space (12 weeks, group work of up to 2 students) — Preliminary design of a building (4 weeks, individual work) The design process will be developed using a digital 3D model (tool 1), 3D printing (tool 2), and both analogue and digital drawing. Continuous assessment will consider: process quality, thematic coherence, graphic rigor, and clarity in the final presentation of the dossier. A blog, with mandatory subscription, will support communication between teaching staff and students.

  • The UC aims to develop critical and design capacity, foster an understanding of contemporary urban systems, and support the production of situated, coherent, and well-grounded architectural proposals. Students are expected to acquire knowledge of urban metabolism, planetary boundaries, and energy and ecological transition, as well as skills in territorial analysis, simulation, design synthesis, representation, and project communication. The competences to be developed include: — Critical reading of complex urban territories — Ability to synthesise across different scales and systems — Development of spatial proposals anchored in place and time — Mastery of both analogue and digital design tools — Active participation in processes of debate and collective critique

  • The structure of the curricular unit is based on seven thematic axes: food, energy, water, soil, waste, climate, and housing. These themes are addressed as interdependent systems that play a decisive role in defining the architectural project. The approach draws on updated scientific data (IPCC AR6 SYR, UN-Habitat, UN), strategic documents of the European Union (Green Deal, Renovation Wave, EPBD, Nature Restoration Law), and analysis of the urban context of the intervention area. The city is understood as a human and territorial ecosystem. The site is studied through its layouts, morphology, uses, and social, economic, and symbolic dynamics. The final proposal stems from reflection on urban metabolism and articulates housing, public space, nature, and collective uses, highlighting the role of architecture in the regeneration of the urban territory.
