- The teaching and learning methodologies for this course unit are predominantly centered on tutorial guidance and feedback received in the sessions of the 'Dissertation/Final Project Work Support Seminar'.Under the supervision of one or two expert advisors in the field, the master's student must develop an independent research project on a topic within their area of specialization.This model involves periodic sessions between the advisor and the student.In these sessions, the parameters of the research are outlined, and a work plan tailored to the nature of each project is established. This plan may encompass various aspects, defined by the advisor based on the specificity of each project.The tutorial follow-up work provides support for the phased completion of the final stages of the project or dissertation, and the preparation of the final document. The assessment focuses on the final object of the dissertation or project, and its discussion is conducted in a public act before a jury.

- Development of research or a project in the student's area of specialization, leading to the preparation of a Dissertation or Project, with initial continuous support obtained through the 'Dissertation/Final Project Work Support Seminar'. The model is chosen by the student and can be theoretical or theoretical-practical. The work developed in the CU is based on regular dialogue with the supervisor(s), who guide the students through the research and/or artistic creation process. The competencies to be developed are according to the chosen approach: . For the theoretical track: the capacity to conduct autonomous research, apply methodologies specific to art, and communicate the findings in a clear and effective manner. . For the theory-practice track: the aptitude for creating an artistic project that reflects a strong dimension of authorship, in addition to the capacity to conduct research and communicate both the process and the outcomes in a clear and effective manner.
- The syllabus content is adaptable, aiming to provide the necessary support for the research to be conducted by the student. The general framework includes: . Definition of the theme, objectives, and methodology, subject to approval by the master's scientific committee; . Establishment of a timeline and working methodology; . Literature review, laboratory or field work, as applicable; . Initial implementation of the plan, including data collection and/or artistic creation, as applicable; . Review of progress with the advisor and adjustments to the plan as necessary; . Continuation of the research work or artistic project, with a focus on the development of the written component; . Presentation of the work in its concluding phase for feedback from external or internal reviewers; . Completion of the thesis or project, and submission of the written component for approval by the scientific committee; . Preparation and execution of the final presentation and discussion in public examinations

- The teaching methodology of this curricular unit is based on a theoretical approach, through the exposure of content in classes, with the help of audiovisual materials, bibliography, and access to support materials previously prepared by the teacher (bibliography, audiovisual material, suggestion of events). These materials will be delivered via the professor's institutional e-mail and later discussed in class. A level of involvement and discussion appropriate to the topics and level of studies in question is expected. Practical exercises will also be carried out focused on the themes proposed in class, with the aim of developing critical thinking skills also in writing: an oral presentation (20 minutes, conference format with discussion) of the theme proposed to work on in the written essay; writing a written essay. Time will also be reserved for face-to-face and e-mail tutorial guidance.

- This unit is dedicated to questioning the character and conceptualization of the notion of interdiscipline associated with an artistic practice. The aim is to provide master's students with an exploratory place, conceptually and using exercises associated with their research and artistic interests. To this end, the UC is structured around two moments: the first, contact with questions, authors and concepts that help them problematize interdisciplinary practices and their own notions of practice and discipline in different contexts and historical moments , ideological and cultural. They must learn to contextualize these references, interpret objects with nuances and undo polarization, articulate arguments coherently, and develop an investigation through oral and written discussion between peers. An introduction to critical thinking about the structure, form and contents of different objects and works will be worked on, which is intended to be transferred to your own practices.
- I. Thinking about disciplinary praxis I.1. The ritual, the ceremony, the theater. The arts system. The case of the Gesamtkunstwerk. The difference between art and life: the borders of representation. The notion of discipline. Differentiations between art and technique. I.2. The disciplinary fluidification of the 20th and 21st centuries. I.3. Current notions: visual arts; performing arts; movie theater; digital arts; body art; literature and writing; design and craftsmanship; architecture; public art; community agency; et al. The notion of praxis applied to an artistic practice. II. Case studies applied to students.
A avaliação é realizada combinando elementos de avaliação contínua (20%) e avaliação final (80%).
A avaliação contínua compreende assiduidade (5%) e participação (15%) nas aulas.
A avaliação final combina dois elementos:
1) uma apresentação oral (de 20 minutos, em formato de conferência, com discussão posterior) do tema proposto para trabalhar no
trabalho escrito (30%);
2) redacção de um trabalho escrito (50%) a partir de um tema previamente proposto, relacionado com as propostas dos conteúdos da unidade curricular, e desenvolvendo criticamente as questões abordadas.
O exame de recurso é constituído pela realização de um breve trabalho escrito (comentário crítico de carácter monográfico sobre um objecto proposto pelo estudante) (50%) e pela apresentação ou repetição dos exercícios feitos ao longo do semestre, caso algum destes se revele de aproveitamento insatisfatório (50%).
São avaliadas as competências de escrita e utilização das referências transmitidas para a elaboração de todos os exercícios e trabalhos escritos. São avaliadas as competências de leitura (capacidade de interpretar), pensamento crítico, organização de fontes e apresentação de diálogo com as leituras realizadas, articulação de conteúdos, estruturação do tema escolhido, e pertinência da integração dos temas trabalhados no contexto científico específico da área. As entregas são feitas via moodle de acordo com o calendário estabelecido para a unidade curricular (integrada no calendário letivo), definido entre docente e estudantes no início do respetivo semestre.

- Expositive, demonstrative, participative and problem solving. The unit can be effected by continuous assessment or final evaluation. The final classification (FC) curricular unit for continuous evaluation is obtained from the marks obtained in the written component (T) and the practical component (PL). The written component consists of two written tests and is on theoretical a practical content. The minimum grade in each frequency is 8 values. The laboratory component consists of two moments of practical assessment conducted during the practical classes, must be equal to or greater than 9.5 values. The final grade is calculated from the following formula: CF = 0.50 T + 0.50 PL. The classification of all assessment instruments is expressed on a scale of 0 to 20, and the weighted value of the marks obtained must be equal or greater than 9.5 values.

- Forensic and Criminal Sciences have had a remarkable increase, placing them at the forefront of the vocational and professional interests of various citizens who view the various associated fields as viable and attractive career possibilities in this area of ¿¿research. In Portugal there are several specialists and the Judicial Police has been considered one of the best and most effective internationally. In forensic and criminal investigation, there has been a shortage of human resources and, above all, the absence of training courses for these technicians, in which this UC assumes extreme relevance for their inherent competences.
