  • This phase of the master's research has a weekly follow-up of two hours by the supervisor to ensure that the student has an intellectual follow-up both in writing and in the production of the work. This monitoring ensures that the dissertation document has the quality required to be defended and is written according to the required standards. It also ensures that the student develops a body of work consistent with their theoretical-conceptual research. The assessment of theoretical-practical research work (or theoretical, if this is the student's choice) is made through public tests and with a jury of three or more elements whose training is strictly linked to the main scientific area of the study cycle or relevant to the matters investigated.
  • Optional
  • General objectives. This CU aims to achieve a master's thesis for each student who can articulate (theoretical-practical dissertation) or not (exclusively theoretical dissertation) a body of artistic work, under the guidance of a professor and, eventually, the co-supervision of other professors pertinent to the subject to be investigated. Specific objectives. Development of the dissertation document and an exhibition where the application of research procedures on and through the arts and their philosophical, ethical and practical implications is assessed, in awareness of the links between context, theory and practice in artistic research. Planning, execution and public defense of the master's thesis as an artistic, academic and written research project, aligned with quality and originality criteria, relevant in the field of contemporary art and visual culture.
  • Develop, complete and defend the Master's dissertation in Visual Arts. Conclusion of the body of work in visual arts, with the respective documentary photography for inclusion in the dissertation document, exhibition to the public or, in case of impossibility, construction of a virtual visit using devices for this purpose, or present a visual report or a portfolio. Writing of the dissertation obeying the institutional rules for formatting the document, regarding its structure: cover, originality statement, index, development, conclusion, indication of bibliographic data according to the indicated norms, full and correct information about the images used). Public defense of the investigation.
