  • It is intended that the student acquires an introductory knowledge about the fundamentals, techniques and practical applications of AI. To this end, the concept of agent is adopted. The development of agents of increasing complexity and capacity is studied, following three metaphors: symbolic, connectionist and biological. Due to the fundamental role they play in AI, the emphasis is placed on the concepts of state, operator of change of state and state space and on the modeling of problems through these concepts.

  • Theoretical-practical classes are based on the use of expositive and interrogative teaching methods, for presenting the topics and fostering students' participation, respectively. In order to consolidate the knowledge, the topic presentation is based on several examples of studies in the field of clinical and health Psychology. In laboratory practice, the active method is preferred, which is focused on problem-solving using a collaborative approach. The UC contents are fully available in various formats, such as .pdf, videos or URLs on Moodle

  • Complementing the course " Research Methods I: Observational Methods¿ (first year), in this CU students should be able to: LO1: Deepen the knowledge of experimental research in Psychology, including the study of experimental research designs. LO2: Know the main data collection methodologies in experimental research, with particular emphasis on tasks using computer applications. LO3: Aqcuire skills related to methodological issues associated with experimental research are intended to be acquired in the context of the design and development of research projects and their implementation,  LO4 : Think critically about experimental research, namely on collecting, analysing and interpreting experimental data.

    Sendo uma UC que exige prática intensa, a presença nas aulas práticas é obrigatória. Os estudantes só podem faltar, no máximo, a 30% das aulas (faltas não justificadas). 

     

    Os estudantes em regime de trabalhador-estudante, com mais de 30% de faltas, devem entregar um trabalho individual escrito sobre o tema do estudo experimental a realizar no laboratório, com necessidade de preparação e análise de dados. O trabalho individual deve contemplar todas as seções de um artigo científico (10%).


    Como média final, o estudante deverá obter a classificação mínima de 10 valores. Caso não, o estudante será avaliado em avaliação final e deverá ter uma classificação mínima de 10 de valores.

  • This course adopts student-centred methodologies, integrating theoretical and practical approaches that foster critical thinking, artistic experimentation and pedagogical application in real contexts. The teaching model is based on active, interdisciplinary and collaborative methodologies. Key approaches include: * Lecture-based and dialogic sessions, supported by visual and audiovisual resources, to present concepts, movements and artistic practices, building bridges between theory, history and art criticism; * Practical and studio-based sessions, focused on exploring contemporary artistic techniques, languages and processes (e.g., installation, assemblage, relational and digital art), promoting individual and collective experimentation and linking artistic practice with pedagogical action;

  • The course unit Theories and Practices of Contemporary Art combines history, critical theory and artistic experimentation to develop analytical, creative and pedagogical competences in Visual Arts. It explores key transformations from the 20th-century avant-gardes to contemporary practices, focusing on the relationship between art, society and visual culture. Students develop critical approaches to artworks and institutional contexts, linking theoretical frameworks with experimental practices across diverse media and languages. The course includes a pedagogical dimension centred on the creation of artistic-educational materials and the planning of learning activities. Through active methodologies, collaborative work and engagement with cultural institutions, it encourages reflection on the role of the teacher as creator and cultural mediator, preparing students for innovative and critical practice.
