It deepens methodologies for analyzing and representing the city, developing critical thinking about urban space and drawing skills on an urban scale, essential to the professional practice of the architect. It consolidates the articulation between architectural and urban design and reinforces the understanding of the city as a field of action for architecture. Teaching takes place in a studio environment, promoting drawing, discussion, and shared reflection on urban design.

  • The aim is to provide students with conceptual and operational tools that enable them to understand, analyse and intervene in urban areas according to ecological principles, contributing to the understanding of the city as a living organism capable of adapting and regenerating itself. By the end of the course, students should be able to: O1 Understand the fundamentals of urban ecology as applied to architecture and urban planning; O2 Critically analyse the urban environment, considering the different scales of intervention, impacts and urban systems; O3 Apply ecological principles in the development of urban proposals appropriate to the local context.
