  • To make the teaching and learning process dynamic and engaging, the course unit “Communication Theory” employs a range of techniques and strategies linked to innovative teaching methods. Active student participation is fostered through interactive challenges, games, collaborative construction of practical examples, and the use of digital resources.

  • - Identify theoretical currents and concepts within communication sciences as a scientific field; - Develop the ability to associate key concepts with contemporary professional and ethical dilemmas; - Understand and discuss concepts in relation to the socio-historical contexts in which they were developed; - Analyse the possibilities and limitations of the theoretical currents studied through analysis, discussion, and examples; - Express oneself orally in a clear and cohesive manner, establishing constructive and respectful dialogues.

  • Tendo em conta os módulos propostos, as metodologias inovadoras de ensino utilizadas e as diferentes atividades propostas, a UC "Teoria da Comunicação" permitirá aos estudantes adquirir conhecimentos fundamentais para seu o desenvolvimento profissional.
    A avaliação proposta busca analisar habilidades analíticas e reflexivas no âmbito da Teoria da Comunicação por meio da escrita e da apresentação oral de trabalho. Espera-se que os estudantes sejam capazes de associar conceitos a questões práticas contemporâneas da comunicação digital.

  • The course unit “Communication Theory” aims to present and contextualize theoretical concepts related to communication and the media. It also seeks to introduce communication as a scientific field in articulation with professional practices. The course is structured to stimulate critical and contemporary debate around the concepts addressed, aligned with the challenges posed to digital communication. This unit plays a fundamental role in preparing students to become professionals who are aware of the theoretical frameworks underpinning communication and capable of applying them to the professional challenges of everyday life. It is also a relevant course unit for students who wish to pursue advanced studies, particularly at the master’s and doctoral levels.

  • In the Design Thinking course unit, innovative methodologies are used to support the teaching-learning process, such as Case Studies, Collaborative Work, and Problem-Based Learning (PBL). These approaches promote active student participation, encouraging them to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios. Case Studies present students with real or simulated situations, challenging them to develop creative solutions. Collaborative Work strengthens team spirit, essential for success in business projects, while PBL stimulates critical thinking and independent problem-solving. Additionally, the use of digital tools like Figma allows students to quickly test and improve prototypes, ensuring iterative and practical learning.

  • The objectives of the course unit are: To equip students with a new way of thinking and approaching problems/challenges creatively and innovatively, turning them into genuine opportunities. To provide exposure to tools that explore the creative process and create value throughout the entire chain of delivering a specific service or product, or even in the creation of a business model.

Operationalize the Integrated Safety within the worker-machine interface by applying normative technical requirements in the design and manufacture of machinery and equipment. Describe and apply the requirements of the general principles and prevention of occupational hazard in emergency operations. Describe and operationalize the control procedures of work accidents risks on the road, through the prevention models currently practiced in Occupational Road Safety.

  • This UC explores, in an organized way, some of the main universes of prevention of professional risks in the field of ST and Emergency Management, from the analysis and assessment of risks to the emergence of the prevention of new risks, given the new realities of the evolution of work processes. In the first phase, new knowledge about risk analysis and assessment will be addressed, as fundamental prevention tools, exploring new knowledge paths and the development of new risk assessment methodologies. In a second phase, specific aspects related to integrated security will be developed, highlighting the importance of the European "New Approach" policy. The third phase provides study materials related to the emergence of new risks. The objectives related to the development of capacities in terms of understanding and solving problems at the OHS level, serve as a basis for consolidating the themes to be explored.
