- The objectives of the course unit are as follows: Enable students to acquire knowledge of computing (hardware and software) from the perspective of both manager and user. Provide students with the fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for the correct use of information technologies in the context of their personal and professional activities. Offer students the opportunity to use virtual learning environments. Introduce the fundamentals of cloud computing. Present the main tools available on cloud computing platforms. By the end of the course unit, students should be able to: Apply techniques and select the most appropriate computer applications for each situation; Use synchronous and asynchronous communication tools; Use a cloud computing platform; Develop and insert content in collaborative computing and learning platforms.

Skills to Develop: It is intended that students have the following competences: KNOW: Understanding legislation and technical standards relating to risk agents. Preventive measures and protection. KNOW-HOW: Identify the various risk factors related to biological and chemical risk agents. Using the methods, measuring instruments and techniques of quantitative assessment of inherent risk. - Active Learning can be used in this curricular unit, promoting practical activities that involve students directly in the learning process, such as organising events of various sizes. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) will also be applied by developing a problem situation related to the planning, organisation and event management in tourism. We will also apply Collaborative Learning which promotes collaboration between students, encouraging them to work in groups to actively participate in the planning, organisation and management of the events they are going to host.

- It is intended to enable students to acquire a global perspective that allows them to understand and build knowledge around: a) the concepts, classification and typologies of events; b) event tourism, its economic, social, environmental and tourist impacts and the importance of resource monitoring; c) event planning, according to organizational and territorial contexts; d) the event organization process, in accordance with the rules of strategic and financial management; e) the importance of events as a factor of positioning and competitiveness of tourist destinations, in a perspective of complementarity and sustainable tourism development.
