  • Presencial: 1. theoretical-practical teaching: Presentation of concepts and discussion of programme contents. 2. Laboratory practice: Visits to Travel and Tourism Agencies to observe and understand the dynamics of the sector in situ; Field research; Critical analysis of case studies related to tourism operations and reservation systems, using classroom debates. 3. Simulated practice: Simulation using specific software for distributing and selling services; Scenarios and activities that allow students to explore real-world situations related to travel organisation, applying the fundamental concepts exposed and developing practical skills. Promotion of collaborative and interdisciplinary learning. Autonomous: 4. Consolidation of the content taught in class by researching additional information on the different topics covered and developing additional work related to solving specific problems and group dynamics.

To analyse the concept and role of tourism intermediation, understanding its historical evolution, contemporary trends (such as disintermediation) and identifying the various agents that make up the tourism value chain; O2. Investigate the origin and evolution of travel and tourism agencies, understand the concept, functions and different types of TTAs and analyse their own and ancillary activities that contribute to the overall service; O3. Define the concept and components of package travel and describe the process of building these trips, analysing emerging trends in this sector; O4. Understand how technology is applied to tourism operations and reservation systems, analysing how global distribution systems (GDS) work.

  • Avaliação curricular (contínua):
    A avaliação da unidade curricular, em regime de avaliação contínua, é composta por:
    - Teste teórico escrito: 30% da nota final;
    - Trabalho teórico-prático com apresentação: 40% da nota final;
    - Teste prático com utilização do GDS Galileo: 30% da nota final.
    Todos os estudantes que, neste regime de avaliação, obtenham média inferior a 9,50 valores serão automaticamente avaliados em avaliação final.
    Os trabalhadores estudantes devem contactar a docente para esclarecimento de dúvidas relativas aos trabalhos de caractér obrigatório.
    Avaliação final:
    A avaliação final será realizada através de exame teórico-prático (100%), integrando tanto a componente teórica como a componente prática da unidade curricular.
    Épocas de recurso e especial:
    Nos casos de recurso ou época especial, a avaliação será igualmente concretizada através de exame teórico-prático (100%), abrangendo as componentes teórica e prática da unidade curricular.

  • The teaching approach adopted is based on the active method, encouraging co-operative (peer) and creative learning. Face-to-face: 1. theoretical-practical teaching: Presentation of concepts and discussion of programme contents. 2. Laboratory practice: Completion of worksheets to analyse and interpret the results obtained; Critical analysis of case studies related to the subject area of the course. 3. Simulated practice: Scenarios and situations that allow students to explore real-world situations related to the subject area of the course, applying the fundamental maths concepts exposed and developing critical thinking. Autonomous: 4. Consolidation of the content taught in class by researching additional information on the different topics covered and developing additional work related to solving concrete problems and group dynamics.

  • The objectives of the curricular unit are: - Develop the reasoning capacity of students; - Providing the basics of quantitative methods, usually applied in the fields of economics and management; - Provide students with knowledge regarding the selection of methods and processes that are best suited to solve a particular problem; - Use correctly the language of mathematics in the development of calculation techniques that build or deepen knowledge essential to the continuance of studies in the following years. At the end of the curricular unit the student should be able to: - Master the fundamental concepts related to infinitesimal analysis. - Identify the different types of equations, inequalities and real functions of a real variable. - Predict and characterize the functions to be used in practical application. - Apply the techniques of calculation in different situations
