  • The expository method is used to transmit knowledge bases but, mainly, the interrogative, active and demonstrative method is used for a critical analysis of the shared content and an effective application of the principles of managing psychosocial working conditions and assessing psychosocial risks in the area of safety and health at work. Case studies are used to illustrate content and the preparation of a practical work to activate students in the learning process and allow the testing of concrete approaches and instruments.

  • Skills - To promote knowledge and basic skills to apply theoretical and conceptual terms and researches in the field of work psychosociology, in particular as regards its implications for the area of Health and Safety at Work. - To provide skills to enable the construction of an integrative and functional perspective of the work concept, and interventions that promote excellence and quality of life at work. - Provide technical expertise for proper  management of the exposure to psychosocial risks in work contexts.

  • A avaliação contínua durante a parte letiva do semestre considera três componentes:

    - Teste de avaliação (45%)

    - Trabalho aplicado (45%)

    - Participação (10%)

     

    Os estudantes que não atingirem nota mínima nos elementos de avaliação ou que não atinjam uma nota
    final agregada igual ou superior a 9,5 valores, passam para exame.

  • This course unit aims to prepare students for the utilization of psychosociological approach in to the work organizations and working contexts, providing them with some theoretical frameworks and tools to: 1. Understand the characteristics, at individual and group level, that influencing the different processes and organizational results, and the quality of working life; 2. Realize the importance of the psychosocial work environment and the need to foster motivation and job satisfaction; 3. Conceive the existence of factors and psychosocial risks that influence organizational dynamics of work and working conditions.

  • The course was delivered online, using a learner-centered approach focused on autonomy and critical integration of knowledge. Due to limited time, sessions prioritized explanatory examples and encouraged students to conduct independent research. Each student was invited to explore scientific literature and produce a critical review on motivated reasoning applied to HRM domains of their choice, fostering active knowledge construction. The digital platform served as a repository for teaching materials and student submissions, ensuring accessibility and organization.

To foster skills to identify and mitigate cognitive biases, including confirmation bias, cognitive dissonance, and rationalization. To enable students to apply theoretical models and scientific evidence in the critical analysis of HRM practices, enhancing competencies in ethical, reflective, and data-driven decision-making.

    A avaliação da unidade curricular é realizada através de trabalhos individuais de recensão crítica. Cada estudante escolhe uma área de aplicação da GRH e produz uma análise fundamentada sobre o Pensamento Motivado, integrando conceitos teóricos e evidência científica. Os parâmetros de avaliação incluem: profundidade da análise, articulação teórico-prática, qualidade da argumentação, capacidade crítica e clareza na comunicação escrita. Este instrumento permite aferir o grau de compreensão dos conteúdos e o desenvolvimento das competências previstas nos objetivos de aprendizagem.

  • The course “Motivated Reasoning” explores the psychological processes that bias perception, reasoning, and decision-making in organizational contexts. Integrated into the curriculum of the Postgraduate Program in Social and Organizational Psychology, this unit examines key theoretical models and empirical evidence—such as cognitive dissonance, confirmation bias, attribution errors, and self-affirmation dynamics—with a focus on their application to Human Resource Management. Its scope includes recruitment and selection, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, and organizational change. This unit is highly relevant for developing critical skills in identifying and mitigating cognitive bias, supporting ethical, evidence-based, and inclusive HR practices.

  • This Curricular Unit aims at an introduction to cloud computing. Build the competencies to implement or adopt Cloud technology, understand what exactly it is and what options exist when thinking about cloud deployments. This UC covers a wide range of cloud computing topic areas, providing a solid foundation of understanding. This UC also creates an environment for understanding the theory and practical ways of the different models of Cloud Computing services: Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS), providing examples and differences between each .
