  • Innovative methodologies supporting the teaching-learning process favour an active, participatory, and student-centred approach, promoting the integration of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and homeostasis. Problem-based learning and applied cases make it possible to relate the morphology of structures to their function, understand mechanisms of body regulation, and analyse situations associated with posture, movement, and musculoskeletal overload. The use of anatomical models, images, digital atlases, videos, simulations, interactive platforms, and three-dimensional resources supports the observation, description, and interpretation of anatomical structures. Guided discussion of examples related to the integumentary, musculoskeletal, articular, and endocrine systems stimulates reasoning, appropriate scientific terminology, critical thinking, and collaborative learning, reinforcing an integrated understanding of the human body.

  • Anatomy is the branch of biology dedicated to the study of the structure of organisms and their parts. It is intimately qualified with embryology, comparative anatomy, evolutionary biology and phylogeny. Human anatomy is considered one of the essential sciences of health science courses. Anatomy is divided into two areas: macroscopic anatomy and microscopic anatomy. Physiology is the study of the functioning of various organ systems, that is, explains how biomolecules, such as cells, tissues, organs and organ systems. Human physiology attempts to understand the mechanical, physical and biochemical mechanisms that keep the human body alive.

  • In this curriculart unit, the methodology of staining histological sections and obtaining histological sections by freezing will be explained. Although the techniques addressed in the curricular unit of Histotechnology I (fixation, microtomy¿) have remained reassuringly constant, there have been great advances in immunological methodology, molecular and digital diagnostics. The progressive development of molecular techniques over the past 20 years, revolving around DNA and in situ hybridization, has led to the creation of new genetic testing and diagnostic opportunities for the laboratory. Digital pathology, in particular, is the new frontier, and quality control is critical to modern and relevant histotechnology.
