  • Nursing Care presupposes a relationship, which is itself therapeutic. When caring for the person, establishing a therapeutic relationship becomes urgent as the issues surrounding the health-disease processes cause great anxiety and suffering to the person and family. There is a need to use strategies to facilitate the expression of emotions, feelings, and needs. By placing oneself in the Other's place, and being aware of oneself, one will be able to more easily perceive and understand the person's needs, which is the major objective and purpose of this Course.

  • Methodologies centered on "learning by doing" make the student the center of learning. Thus, the teacher appears as the mediator between the knowledge (the contents) and the different forms of access to the same, expressed in the methodologies.
  • Mandatory
  • It is intended that the student understands data analysis as a relevant competency in their training, that is interested, autonomous and critical when faced with real problems. The student must be able to plan the whole process that precedes the data analysis itself, which includes sample composition, definition of variables of interest, data collection and choice of statistical procedures according to the objectives. The student should also acquire knowledge and master fundamental concepts related to techniques of descriptive statistical analysis and develop skills in the application of these concepts in real practical situations. It is intended to develop in the student the ability to find in their reality problems that can be solved by the application of the concepts learned and through a logical and structured reasoning. The ability to interpret the results of the analyzes and communicate them in a clear and concise manner will also be developed.

  • Innovative methodologies supporting the teaching-learning process favour an active, participatory, and student-centred approach, promoting the integration of anatomical, physiological, and functional knowledge. Problem-based learning and clinical cases make it possible to relate the morphology of structures to their function and to understand the articulation of systems in homeostasis. The use of anatomical models, images, diagrams, videos, digital platforms, simulations, and interactive resources supports the three-dimensional visualization of structures and the understanding of physiological processes. Guided discussion of situations applied to the circulatory, lymphatic, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive systems, and sense organs stimulates reasoning, critical thinking, and the appropriate use of scientific terminology. These methodologies reinforce autonomy, collaborative learning, and an integrated view of the human body.

  • Anatomy is the branch of biology dedicated to the study of the structure of organisms and their parts. It is intimately qualified with embryology, comparative anatomy, evolutionary biology and phylogeny. Human anatomy is considered one of the essential sciences of health science courses. Anatomy is divided into two areas: macroscopic anatomy and microscopic anatomy. Physiology is the study of the functioning of various organ systems, that is, explains how biomolecules, such as cells, tissues, organs and organ systems. Human physiology attempts to understand the mechanical, physical and biochemical mechanisms that keep the human body alive.
