- This course will familiarize students with the basics of statistical thinking, language, and techniques. Students should be able to recognize the usefulness and wide application of these methodologies to various contexts, particularly in their subject areas. It is intended that students develop data analysis capabilities as well as acquire fundamental knowledge of probability theory and random variables. It is intended that students develop their thinking skills, helping them to address and solve real practical problems in their area of study or in other contexts.

- The methodology of this UC is based on a theoretical approach, through the presentation of content in classes, with the help of audiovisual materials, bibliography and access to support materials previously prepared by the Professor. Cumulatively, discussion and analysis of the cases addressed, production of oral and written speech, attendance at shows and exhibitions opportunely indicated and preparation of the works communicated at the beginning of the semester are expected. Some of the classes will be taught in a museum context, for direct and immersive contact with the cases discussed. The combination of elements presupposes a strong Practic-Based Learning component. The materials are delivered through Moodle and later discussed in classes. All work can and should be discussed with the teacher, and correction is mandatory and considered for assessment. Time will also be reserved for tutorial guidance in person and via email.

- Given the specific nature of this course unit, which focuses on clinical education, the activities undertaken in clinical practice settings provide a valuable opportunity for supervised reflection in and on action. In line with the institution's educational principles, this pedagogical strategy promotes the integration of theoretical knowledge with practical experience, thereby contributing to the acquisition and consolidation of the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values essential to professional practice. In Nursing education, progressive immersion in real healthcare settings is particularly relevant, as it fosters the development of critical thinking, autonomy, responsibility, and ethical, safe, and evidence-based professional practice.

Ficha Docente - Orientador Interno (OI).
