  • The Strategic Compensation Management unit focuses on the fundamentals of Management from a strategic perspective of compensation in professional contexts, based on the fulfillment of the programmatic content. Its relevance within the study cycle lies in the importance of these themes for both public and private organizations. The main objective is to prepare and equip future Technicians in Administration and Public Management Advisory with the essential knowledge and basic skills for analyzing and applying the tools acquired throughout the sessions.

  • Evolution of compensation: from traditional salary to strategic management. Concepts: value of salary for individuals, organizations, and society. Total Rewards & EVP: integration of compensation, benefits, culture, and development to attract/retain talent. Total compensation: Fixed: base salary, supplements, collective agreements. Variable: bonuses, incentives, commissions, profit sharing, stock options. Benefits: health, well-being, education, retirement, mobility. Intangibles: recognition, growth, flexibility, organizational climate. Internal/external equity: job evaluation, salary surveys, benchmarking. ESG & well-being: inclusive practices, gender equity, parenthood, ESG indicators tied to executive bonuses. Challenges: gig economy, remote work, global pay, AI impact, new forms of compensation, ethics and legislation.
  • Compensation management has always played an extremely important role in organizational management. However, in today’s volatile and uncertain environments, this area becomes even more relevant. The aim is for students to acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas: Identifying and analyzing internal and external factors that influence the compensation system; Understanding different approaches to compensation management in organizations; Applying the concepts of designing a compensation system; Defining a strategic compensation management policy in organizational contexts.

Curriculum evaluation will be carried out through a written test and a practical work with oral presentation, in accordance with the timetable and syllabus of the CU.
